And here is my shot of this year 🙂
@ Beermat.
I think i willl do the train to cambridge and then the shuttles from there on to Duxford… i will try it on forehand on the Spring show… (IF THE MRS WILL GIVE HER GREEN FLAG 😀 )
AS long as im in Stansted before 19.30 there isn’t any problem.. (leave me 2 and a half hours to get from Duxford to Stansted)… or perhaps i can ride with someone on the way back… im not a bad person if i say so myself
@ Trumper.
That’s strange because every ticket agency keeps saying it’s possible with National Express East Anglia for the Whittlesford – Audly end track and then the Crosscountry from Audly to Stansted, Waiting Half an hour of waiting isn’t that bad because we are used to waiting here for the train in the Netherlands..
@ Beermat
Thanx for the suggestion for the coaches. Only the coaches stop running between after 18.15 and continue 20.15… that would bring me in serious trouble for the flight back if i miss the 18.15 coach.
Seriously????
The 19:00 return flight is a bit of a problem. The show doesn’t end until 1600 or 1700. I’ve been “tricked” so many times by thinking it’s early..and then suddenly some guy warns me the last train is about to leave for Cambridge and I always end up last in que.
Good luck though!!
Hi DCK,
i know that i won’t be the only one for the train back to stansted, but i am used traveling by train to airshows, so i know what to expect. if i catch the train of 19.00 then i still have one hour to pass the security check… as i only have a camerabag that fits in the overhead compartment i don’t expect alot of trouble… i will try it before on one of the other shows on Duxford.
Cheers,

HI Guys,
Thanks alot for your help… i will figure something out or perhaps ask Oz to sneak something out of the Hotel ;)…
croissants mon dieux :)… some bread… perhaps a small shop which has some peanutbutter in their shop. that’s my “Good” breakfast ;)…
TG1984 😀
Exactly… i don’t want an english one (sorry guys)… I’m dutch and i don’t even eat cheese, that explains alot right?
A bakery would satisfy me enough Moggy. Is there one in Whittlesford? i would have packed me own lunch but i guess RA doesn’t like that either and i don’t want to pay a fee for that too ;)… have to be in my car at 4.00 in the morning… so i am surprised they don’t give me money for flying out that early LOL 😀
I’m uncertain as to what constitutes a ‘good breakfast’ other than lots and lots of greasy stuff on a plate. Black pudding, bacon, beans. fried egg, fried bread, sausages, tomatoes, mushroom etc.
Some guidance?
Moggy
Then i would go to the Golden Arches or BK/KFC restaurant if i want to have lots of Greasy stuff, Need to watch the weight there dear sir 😉 or else RA will charge me an excess weight fee on the way back :diablo:… Perhaps a bakery is a better option then ;), if someone could point one out to me that would be great.
@ oz rb fan
Looks like we are going to march like Dad’s Army then;)
OR if someone has another good idea to eat elsewhere?
Moggy, Thanks for that… i made a quick Edit ;)… Do you have any pointers perhaps for a nice breakfast? (sorry to be blunt, but i don’t prefer an english breakfast 😮 😮 :o)
Well if i’m able (depending on Mrs TG1984) to visit Legends in 2011 i also will be walking from Whittlesford station… Perhaps it’s a good idea to walk with a large group then walk alone?
My plan is the following.
Drive 1.5 hour from my home town to Weeze (Germany) then fly at 6.45 to Stansted and being there at 7. A nice breakfast at the airport OR if someone has another good idea to eat elsewhere? Then go by train to Whittlesford. At the end if the show i have to be back at Stansted before 19.00 cause flight leaves at 20.45 and then i will be in my bed at around 01.00 ;)… Sounds complicated huh??
Has someone an estimated time for the opening? perhaps sneak me in before the official opening ;), need to do an article so all the help would be welcome 🙂
Cheers

It’s a 3/4 replica (if you have read the full website), although i can’t understand a read french, 3/4 was the only thing popping up at the website’s main page
Assuming a skilled pilot…and the undercarrriage leg doesn’t bite into the grass:)
:DAnd i vote for Chuck Norris, cause he eats rubber for breakfast.. so no tire would dare getting flat under his piloting skills
:D(uhm.. didn’t know he was a pilot…) Duh… He is Chuck Norris he can be what he wants to be..
At the end of the war the plane was fitted with a German engine and was found to be the most suitable and best engine for it outperforming all other propeller planes. This was the same engine used in the Focke Wulf Ta152 but with enhancements.
However the US and British politicians found it politically incorrect to fly with a German engine and it was removed.

LMAO :D….. Some Germans DO have a sense of humor afterall…
Don’t forget the Dutch Yak-3U RA-3482K… This one flies quite frequently here on the main land…

i think it was the same reason why they didn’t use R-R or Wright Cyclones ;)… or am i bantering just a little bit… :diablo:
