The time together is coming to an end.

    Hope that has your attention.
The Vincent is returning to its home base in August(date to be confirmed).
I understand that it will be making an appearance with the fuselage reunited with the centre section, making a display fit for royalty.

This will give anyone lucky to see this, the opportunity to appreciate the size of this magnificent machine

I was at the RNZAF museum in christchurch and on the hanger tour caught a view of these 2 Vickers machines together.

The Vincent (in the brown/ green scheme) in on loan from the owner for 12 months to guide the RNZAF team as they work on the museum collection Vildebeast.

There has been a bit of publicity coming out with stories in local media

    (link replaced)

I don’t live in Christchurch but would seriously think about a trip down if it makes it

onto its centre section as seen in this youtube video (Not mine)

it looks like its progressed a lot..

The last ‘recent’ pics of te330, show it sitting on a stand, minus it’s wings(kiwi aircraft pic’s with JG891 beside it)….
The other views I have seen show it in brown/green….grey looks so much better….
    It all looks good..
Any one know of other pic’s around…
My cheque book is open with the pen poised…
A post dated cheque should be fine, shouldn’t it?;)
(dreams are important in the cold hard light of reality…..)

Congratulations on the new addition to the family

I had a look at the frame when I was down there in April last year.
It’s great to hear that it has been removed from the car park, with all the damage that appeared to be happening to it.
Was there anything left up in the cockpit?

I think it was heli logging that brought the wessex’s and parts, Taranaki(?) based, I can recall that they were having trouble getting the approval to commercially fly them, as ex mil airframes, the CAA didn’t to be keen on them plying a trade…..

I also have some merlin no.s to email you to…must do that before I lose them.:) 😎

    Hi Denys
Things are looking good, nice to see some serious steps forward…
Is there plans for a new hanger for the hudson??
When are there people around the section? Was down a couple of weeks ago, Viscount and antartic bird look great undercover, but nobody about, even the office had a sign up, back in 15 mins…., I think the clocks must run slower in the South Island as no one appeared….

Not too sure if I’d fly on that one, the pilot wears face paint, has red hair and his uniform looks a bit dodgy, then there is the cabin crew……

This is sad news, especially when you think of the great collection that use to be the alpine fighter c.
I am pleased that I have many memories and photographs of it, including stephen Grey taking it for it’s second journey skyward in NZ…..
But I guess that it is an expencive pastime and unless I win lotto tonight (and a few more times) then there isn’t a lot I can do or say other than I hope it entertains people ( and australians….;-)) as much as it has done here….

Great to hear…have a great trip.
There is also the good collection at ashburton, worth a look as you drive south.
Ardmore airfield on a sunday afternoon has a good chance of some of the warbirds about and ??the DC 3 might be flying…
Them there is ardmore during the week for the businesses.
Then if I wanted to be sarcastic, there is on the grass, behind the fence outside any of our airforce bases…..;-)
