I was delighted to catch the Ju52 departing NWI earlier this week.

You can follow the continuing progress of the flight on the RIMOWA web site which has a series of short videos each day.

    Boeing plant tour

Did the Boeing plant tour at Everett at the end of April this year. Starts from the Boeing Future of Flight facility on the NW corner of Paine Field. Going mid week did not need to book beforehand, just turned up and bought ticket.

Fascinating stuff, 747/777/787 production lines, unfortunately just the week before the first 787 came out on the parking area.

There is a Hilton Garden Inn just beside the Boeing facility, so easy to stay if needed.

    Skegness Aerodrome

How interesting to find a thread about Skegness!

I flew Austers G-AHCN, G-AHSO, G-AIGR and G-APKN out of Skegness at various times from September 1966 to May 1967, to do enough hours to keep my PPL current that year. I seem to remember £3 10/- per hour!!! Those were the days.
My log book records that the CFI was a Mr R Larsen.

    Boeing 707 Turbo Compressors

The selection of T/Cs on 707s varied depending on customer needs, mostly 3 sometimes 2, for cabin pressurisation air supply.
May I suggest to ‘Google’ ‘Boeing 707 Turbo Compressor’ for a range of answers.

I beleive the Spitfire described by MOGGY C, in post no. 1 on this thread yesterday, was the same one we saw about 1030hr heading north over Attlebridge, Norfolk, about 5 miles west of Norwich Airport. The noise from the engine and the loud shout from my better half in the garden got me out the front door in time to see it! Apparently it did a roll as it went by near us.
Nobody on this thread seems to have identified it yet. Was it the BBMF Spitfire PR XIX PM 631? (From the BBMF website pictures it seems to be PRU blue with Invasion stripes.) It did seem to be quite an early time of day for any displays by BBMF, and a long way east of any programmed events for that date. Maybe it was a practice for a flypast at Norwich Cathedral B of B service tomorrow morning Sunday 16 September.
