I’d agree with all that has been said regarding the show, it was a brilliant day out. Nice to see the Jungmann getting an airing. The ‘heavies’ towards the end were, as ever, excellent. Highlight for me had to be the Miles quartet, I don’t think such a formation of Miles types has ever taken place before ? I must also mention the Cessna 150, cracking display. It was nice to see the Edwardians up as well. All in all, a fantastic day out, as Andy said, classic Shuttleworth.

BTW did anyone notice the HAC Hurricane passing overhead during the Sea Hurricane and Spitfire V formation? Anyone have any ideas as to where it had been?

The Avenger was definately at Legends 98. Check out Red Admiral’s video, it flew in formation with the Catalina.

    Nice pics 🙂

It’s good to see the AMPAA Avenger back, its a shame she couldn’t make it to Legends. The last time it was in the UK was, I think, Legends 1998, but it may have been at RIAT last year along with Didier Chable’s Skyraider (which has sadly gone Stateside apparently 🙁 )

    Please do post more pics!

    Lovely pics.

So that’s where Short-Fuse Sallee got to! I remember seeing her at Flying Legends 94. Ahh memories! The Vietnam-camo Skyraider also looks the business. I’d like to see Kennet’s example in such a scheme, with the underwing racks and pods as well.

    1. Spitfire opening
    2. Mustangs (inc. Ed Shipley’s stonking solo)
    3. Seeing 2 B25s in the air at the same time for the final time

It’s hard to judge what the highlights were at a show where a P39, I-15, Super Connie and 10 Spitfires were displaying. I must also give credit to the Corsair pair, excellent stuff.

Great pics, but one thing I’ve noticed is the lack of any P51Ds (bar Twilight Tear of course)

Is that a Corsair behind the Bearcat (in front of the Sea Fury)?

It looks like it has a yellow stripe around it’s nose, and numbers on its cowling (210?) – does anyone know who owns it, if it is a Corsair?

    Great shots all. More!

Has anyone got a list of what has arrived (so far)?

Damn I thought not. Maybe one day…

I believe there are two or three Ju52s in Switzerland? Would be nice to see them.

If the Lufthansa Ju52 is still at DX (perhaps someone can confirm that it didn’t depart during the day), then I would make an educated guess that it would be the Salis Collection Ju52 (camo example, seen at Legends last year)

I didn’t realise that there were any Marchettis flying; does anyone have any pics?

    Either

Mossie, P38, Dauntless, Helldiver or I-16 Rata.

But seeing an I-15, P39, Super Connie and JB’s Sea Fury at the same show; what more can one ask for?

    🙂

According to someone on the UKAR board who has been at DX today, the I-15 flew at around 2pm (that must have been what you saw Ashley)

    🙂

Don’t they park in the ‘normal’ car parks with non-pre booked ticket holders? I think that was the case last month (and last year for that matter)

I don’t think there is a specific car park unfortunately (maybe it’s a good thing)
