Come on Steve, you have been around long enough not to make such a dopey comment. How else can you flick a sideways monster to line up with the runway at the last moment. The landing was textbook I would say.
Line it up and plonk it down before you get an updraft and endless drift.

Why did NASA choose the TU144 instead of Concorde for SST research?

The first Concorde to land at LBA was flown in by Air France in a 40kt crosswind. The Captain described it as interesting.

Windshear.Aircraft can land with up 40kt’s crosswind but windshear is created in gusty conditions so the approach is too unstable.

Chris, try buying a ticket to an onward destination from AMS.
For example.NCL to Hamburg but miss the onward flights.
I have flown many journeys through Amsterdam and they were always cheaper than Amsterdam only within Europe.
Also,I once wanted to fly LBA to Moscow 1 way.The fare was almost 800GBP but, a return ticket was almost half price so I bought a return ticket and did not use it.

Steve, about 8 -10 years ago when departing from Sydney to Perth, there was a big storm at the airfield. Our Quantas Captain told us about the delay due to the storm.I cannot remember the exact figure but he told us about 7 Quantas aircraft had been struck by lightning and 6 Ansett aircraft.I assume other airlines also must have been hit.
I wonder if this was a record for one day.
