What is the purpose of the gun?
So where does scary flight come into it?
Plane forced to divert after cockpit window cracks in mid-flight
Daily Mail today. Drama.
This follows an article asking why are planes falling out of the sky?
Come on Steve, you have been around long enough not to make such a dopey comment. How else can you flick a sideways monster to line up with the runway at the last moment. The landing was textbook I would say.
Line it up and plonk it down before you get an updraft and endless drift.
Why did NASA choose the TU144 instead of Concorde for SST research?
The first Concorde to land at LBA was flown in by Air France in a 40kt crosswind. The Captain described it as interesting.
Windshear.Aircraft can land with up 40kt’s crosswind but windshear is created in gusty conditions so the approach is too unstable.
cheesebag,
If you were some super rich pop star you have to cross the pond in some tiny private bizjet
The live webcam and live ATC audio stream at LBA was shutdown recently. This is located on the Multiflight hangar. The reasons given security.

• How British airline Flybe has the world’s biggest fleet of Bombardier plane in NY crash
I was not going bother to responding but it was quite interesting to look back on.I know I have missed some out particularly for defunct airlines.
Also some flights in early piston engined aircraft.
All true stuff Steve but probably with some errors.

Chris, try buying a ticket to an onward destination from AMS.
For example.NCL to Hamburg but miss the onward flights.
I have flown many journeys through Amsterdam and they were always cheaper than Amsterdam only within Europe.
Also,I once wanted to fly LBA to Moscow 1 way.The fare was almost 800GBP but, a return ticket was almost half price so I bought a return ticket and did not use it.
I am one of the few Platinum Elite for life members and I am treated the same as everybody else mate.Forget any upgrades.

I was passing through Amsterdam on Saturday and I saw what appeared to be a Martinair aircraft in a retro paint scheme. Can anyone confirm this.
Steve, about 8 -10 years ago when departing from Sydney to Perth, there was a big storm at the airfield. Our Quantas Captain told us about the delay due to the storm.I cannot remember the exact figure but he told us about 7 Quantas aircraft had been struck by lightning and 6 Ansett aircraft.I assume other airlines also must have been hit.
I wonder if this was a record for one day.
