Needless to mention he once again criticised Liquid Fuel ICBM says it lacks Mobility and Boost Phase is longer , which is certainly True.

Yeah, but what kind of mobility is necessary for silo-based missiles? :p And a longer boost phase is traded by higher fuel efficiency to deliver heavier payloads.

He seems upset because some work will not be allocated to MITT and that’s good because monopolies are not good. Sorry Yuri!

Agreed. I believe the Sevastopol and Crimea population, being mainly Russian and Russian speaking will agree whit those claims. But those big mouth-claims are a big-big mistake because they will gift arguments to those Ukrainian “nationalists” (that are in reality Poles descendants) in the western part of the country that will start to cry about a restarted Russian imperialist wave.

In reality the best for both Ukraine and Russia is to repeat treaties like the one signed one year ago, that rent the base to Russia while exchanging economical benefits for Ukraine. This should be enough to calm separatists tendencies in Crimea and hold-on the “nationalists”. The best for Ukraine is not to stir ethnic-linguistic conflicts and to improve the living standards of all the country-people.

    Rus-M

Russia is planning to develop a new carrier rocket by 2015 while continuing the work on the Angara family of space boosters, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.

The Rus-M carrier rocket is being developed by the Energia space corporation, to launch new-generation spacecraft from the Vostochny space center currently under construction in the country’s Far East.

“We are planning to start test-launches of light and heavy Angara rockets in 2013, and develop the Rus-M carrier rocket by 2015,” Putin said during his annual address to parliament.

A draft model of Rus-M was first presented at the MAKS 2009 air show in Moscow.

The launch vehicle faces strict safety requirements, and will have to guarantee a takeoff or ensure a continuous flight or an ejection with a safe landing even with one of its engines is out of action.

Energia corporation has already received about 800 million rubles ($28.5 mln) of budget funds for the Rus-M project.

The two-stage Rus-M is expected to be the main launch vehicle for the Prospective Piloted Transport System, a new manned spacecraft which is to replace the Soyuz rocket.

What would Argentina even do with an S-300?

I.e. hunting down Thyphons chasing tankers like was referenced here. A S-300PMU2 with a 200 km range, effectively would negate the British planes the option to go to the mainland.

Anyway, read the Buitreaux post before this one: Zero chance. Argentinean military men are phobic to no-western weapons. They will try to buy U. Kingdom weapons before Russians! :p

According to an article from RIAN (some months ago), there were some talks between Russia and Argentina about the purchase of SAM systems.

Not any news furthermore. What a SAM system was discussed, if any?
Ideally a later S-300 model, but what about money?

… as they don’t have as large a gap as Russia does?

Yes, they have that gap, toward the south. Kazaksthan is a very large country with no natural borders toward the tans of south. A few MiG-31 can patroll such a large air-gaps.

    Summarizing:

    – RS-20 follow-on will be lighter but not less lethal.
    – It may carry false warheads.
    – Currents silos will be ultra-hardened (passive defenses).
    – Point ABM defenses will protect them (active defenses).
    – Number of nukes necessary to disable them will rise from 2 to 4-6.

It sounds impressive and technically affordable, although it doesn’t sounds cheap. Those requirements are explained in face a NATO encirclement strategy with ABM defenses and PGMs. In the end, it is obvious that Russian planners doesn’t believe in the reset button and marketing like that.

    On the S-500

    http://military.tomsk.ru/blog/topic-373.html

According to an article at that site S-500 may use the 45T6, that’s the
53T6 follow on to perform anti-ICBM tasks.

    Another article on the A-135

I read some time ago it will be four S-400 sectors with a total of 64 quad-launchers.

This concentration on Moscow is still a bit of a mystery to me.

64 quad launchers from the planned 448 launchers (28 regiments) seems OK.

Not particularly a high concentration. Compare with the today concentration and you will see a decentralization around Moscow.

Interception profile with a 48N6E2 missile at almost full range

    http://www.vko.ru/database/images/pictures/archive/0901/48-04.jpg

The ballistic-like profile is sooooooo obvious. 48N6E3 and the thing able to reach 400 km work in that way.

    Now a puzzling picture:

    http://www.vko.ru/database/images/pictures/archive/0901/48-05.jpg

An interception-try of a ballistic target at 70 km height 190 km range? That’s seems an undeclared capability even for the S-400.

That’s an old article (circa 2005) referring to interception heights up to 185 km (That’s IN space, no NEAR space). I think this weapon was re-allocated to the S-500 system in order to perform ASAT and anti-ICBM interceptions based on data prvided by more powerfull radars. This, in turn, explain the extended reach range of the S-500 system (600 km).

    What means “near-space”? 40 km?
