Thanks, obviously the flights to Northern Holland didn’t happen after all which is a shame!

Yes I agree, but my wife thinks they should be Geese! Perhaps Goosegogs might be a good compromise!

Can I throw in an Autair Viking at Luton in the early 1960’s? Note the Skyways York and Connie in the background!

One of a Tradair Vilking, G-AIXR. On the basis it is parked outside the Channel Airways hangar, I must have take it soon after the Channel Airways takeover of Tradair in December, 1962.

I agree, if only I had the photographic equipment in those days that I have now! I use to start off on the North side and then walk through the pedestrian tunnel to the Central area, which seemed to take forever! I always went on the spectators coach which went round the whole hangar area past the BOAC Stratocrisers (all cocooned then for preservation), Connies and DC7C’s. If I remember correctly the Aeroflot TU104’s used to park over to the right of the Queen’s Building. I also saw the first (or one of the first) Pan Am 707’s to land at Heathrow (N709PA) which was also parked in this area!

Here are a couple of shots of the KC97 of the Ohio ANG at Greenham Common in 1974. Not in colour I’m afraid!

Nice Video. Shame we couldn’t see more of the slides they were showing. Loved the shots of the old Air Lingus Viscounts and F27.

Look forward to the next one at Ahannon.

    Thank you you posting.

I bet you would love to sit in your office now and stare at that Hermes all day! That was the original Tradair hangar so I have attached a couple of pics of the Tradair Vikings that were parked opposite the front of the hangar in 1962.
