pardon my ignorance but, is there anyother way to keep XH558 flying? could a company without destroying the charachtaristics of the vulcan, use it as test and evaluation aircraft? wouldnt that keep her flying?

Hey i like the Brits passion for aircraft especially warbirds. My grandmother who was a war bride form Manchester, to her dying day could remember what Dornier, a Heinkel, a Spitfire, and a Hurricane looked like and what they sounded like!:cool:

Nah what really gets their goose, is the fact that our frigates namely the Constitution{old ironsides as we call it} completely embarrassed His Majesty’s Royal Navy on more than one occasion. But hey its like the tommy’s used to say ” the yanks are over paid, over sexed, and over here. But we all became good buddies for awhile during and after WWI over there, over there, say the word, say the word, over there, the yanks are coming, the huns are running……

The Short Seamew was definitely not. The Gannet was a thing of beauty compared to it.

Saw a Seamew at Farnborough, so that gets my vote for pig-ugly!

IMHO I think the Fairey Albacore was hideous. Also the Barracuda, and the Gloster Javelin too.:(
