Spitfire (I assume) just flew over my house in Lincoln, was quite high and I don’t have my bins to hand so I’m just assumin thats what it was as I don’t live that far from Coningsby so more than likely one of the BBMF lot.
As I live in Lincoln I’m assuming the one I rememeber was either at Waddington or most likely Scampton, I do remember a Vulcan display, that must be mid to late 80’s I think. But I can’t have been more than about 4 or 5.
I remember the 90/91/92 Scampton shows better, they had a russian display team at one year, as my dad got talking to one of the pilots, he must have spoken english I’m assuming lol as I do know my dad couldn’t speak russian 😉 lol.
Havn’t been to an air show in years though, was going to the sunday at Waddington which was cancled (just my luck *rolls eyes* lol).
For more info:
Scary thing is, my mum and I were admiring the Lancaster and two spitfires out side the hanger at coningsby last Friday when the two Typhoons came home and we just assumed it was just a normal training exercise. Then we saw this on the TV last night and it all made sense lol
🙁 I am so ashamed to say that we pass my the visitor centre at least twice a week and we’ve never had a chance to come in (either coz it’s too late or not open) We will get there one day I promise 🙂
Good grief I had compleatly forgotten about Skeggy. I went in a pleasure flight with my dad in the 80’s it must have been. I’m currently digging through my photo albums for the photos. When I find them I’ll have to put them on one of my photopages lol:D
The best part of that photo has to be the pink nail polish 😀 good for her!!
I took some good photos by the Land warfare hall (I think thats the one anyway) I took my Avatar from there and it came out ok.
I’m short so I need some kind of hill or rise to stand on lol and there’s a slight incline there, although the roof of the building did end up in a couple of my other pics. But that’s just me, dunno where the best place is.
I’m new to the forums but I thought this is a good place to start lol 😀
Avro Lincoln (For the simple reason I’m from the Lincoln they were named after lol but also as I’ve heard they were superior to the Lancaster),
Vickers Valient,
Junkers Ju 87,
Handley Page Hampden,
Ader Avion III (I’d just like to know if it could fly lol),
Vickers Wellington,
Bristol Beaufighter,
Dornier Do X,
Gloster E.28/39,
Fairey Delta 2 (There was (I assume it’s still there) one at the RAF Museum Cosford and it’s such an interesting looking aircraft and I had no idea what it was, I’d never heard of it before).
