One of the BBMF spitfires over Lincoln then Scampton (according to my scanner) just after 1900hrs, lovely to see 🙂
Can’t say for certain which one, but I can eliminate 3 lol so that leaves me with P7350 or AB910, I didn’t see enough detail to say which one, although my money’s on P7350, plus i’m not that good at identifying them anyway lol you’re lucky I norrowed it down to them ;):D lol
She was sharing one of the big hangars whilst they were working on her UC

Photos are not mine, all belong to their owner who’s a member on the VTTS forum.
So I hope she still gets to use it and was just out for engineering reasons.
If you could land a Vulcan at Usworth (in 3/4 of the runway length), and at several other tiny strips, then anything is possible. 558 is the preverbial racing snake of Vulcans now.
.
I’m not saying it wouldn’t be possible to land there, I’m just saying that the CAA e.t.c won’t let them land there 😀 too much risk. Better to be safe that sorry 😀
From what I understand she needs a minimum of 6000 feet and duxford isn’t even close as far as I know, also you have to take into account runway strength and I’ve read on the VTTS forum that the runway wouldn’t take her weight.
She won’t be landing, there isn’t enough runway 🙂
The BBMF’s PM631 was out this afternoon, could have been that? it was out for quite a while, definitely had time lol 😀
Better make that twice 😀 I can confirm it was the BBMF 😀
Dakota, probably BBMF over NE Lincoln 3 minutes ago, only assuming it was BBMF, as it headed off towards Coningsby, but I didn’t have me bins on me. But who ever it was, thank you 😀 love seeing the Dak over my house, makes my day 🙂
Lancaster has litterally just flown right over my house very low, wonderful to see her thanks BBMF for making my day :D:D
edit:: I’ve just looked at the display dates and it only says Metheringham, any idea why she’d be flying over NE Lincoln? is she off anywhere else today that isn’t listed? i’m curious now 😀
::Edit 2:: Dakota just did the same thing, flew over our house and around the Cathedral 😀 Thanks BBMF now my day is complete :D:D
According to the official forum, the problem is very easy to fix, but the part needed was in Bruntingthorpe, they were offered a helicopter to take them to get it, but it was a good couple of hour job to fix, so they decided not too. Should be working on her today. I hope I remembered all that right 😀 appologies if I havn’t, just passing on what I read 🙂
I had compleatly forgotten about the B52, where was she? I saw her arrive, then didn’t hear anything more lol 😀
Thanks for all the advice on camera’s in the Photography section guys.
I’ve bought a Fuji S5700, which is not quite as advanced as a DSLR, but has loads more features than a compact. And it was only £99 new from Currys!
All I need is somewhere to test it…Anyone got any ideas for tomorrow, preferably with some flying warbirds. Not Duxford though, going there next week
Any ideas?
That’s the same as mine, not a bad bit of kit, the “movie” feature is very good, great sound capture, i’m a bit gutted though as I paid £129.99 for mine lol :D:p
She’s just leaving the hangar now 🙂 safe flight, look forward to seeing her fly past my house later today, fingers crossed everything goes according to plan 🙂
Can I just say that when I went to the Intrepid in March 2006, she was in great condition and was looked after very well, sadly I didn’t get up close as I didn’t realise she was accessible till it was too late.
So I just hope it was just an accident.
As for the pigeon, that’s no different to the starling we saw nesting in one of the lage jets at Duxford last year 😀 lol
Two days in a row we’ve had the Lancaster fly over us 😀
It really made my day!!!
Yesterday at Coningsby, and today over NE Lincoln along with Hurricane, wonderful site, and made mowing the lawn just that much nicer 😀
Had to run in to get my camera, I’m glad it was just inside the door or I would have missed them.

Enjoy 🙂
Spotted a Dakota this afternoon flying over Lincoln Cathedral, didn’t make a note of the time. I assume it was the BBMF Dak, as it headed off that way.
