We’ll be going for an ice cream at the very nice ice cream shop in Blyton (I highly recomend it) on that particular Sunday 😀

I’m only 15 miles (ish) from the epicentre and was just dropping off to sleep when our house started shaking, was rather scary lol

my first thought was it was something from Waddington (we’re almost under the approach), I really did think, for a blip of a nano second, that it was a really low flying aircraft lol then I realised it was a tremor. I slept through the last one we had lol.

Everyone is talking about their pets acting up, our cat must be useless as he was asleep on the window sill and didn’t even blink  😀

It was in echo last night 😉 😀

I’d love to volunteer, I don’t know a lot though lol so I doubt I’d be much use.

The last time I was at Wickenby I was about 10 and my dad was meant to be giong to take some ariel photos of the woodland for Butterfly conservation but when we got there they told him I wasn’t alloud to go up with him 🙁 so I had to sit in the control tower for a couple of hours lol a very nice lady made me some orange squash and gave me some chocolate digestives lol 😀
Funny the things you remember lol

i read the bulletin on their website as a cause of their closure, and i think you’ll find that it was closed to the general public, due to a large number of pornographic posts being posted there? or am i wrong?

I saw that on the annoyncement too and I was a regular poster on the forum there and I never saw anything pornographic lol, I did hear about some abuse of members, which was another reason given.

It’s just a shame really that they’ve closed it to non members, I can’t afford to pay rent let alone be a club member, I gave money when I could but i’m a little annoyed to be honest.
I can definitely understand why it’s been done though, don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to loose sleep over it 😀 lol

I didn’t see the footage but are you sure it wasn’t XM602 they were in? that would make more sense 😀

Radio Lincolnshire said the adverts will be in the bomb bay, so it won’t affect the Lottery fund conditions.

    I don’t post here very often, I’m more of a lurker 😀

I do like reading UE websites, although I’ve never been to any “abandoned” site myself, I do love looking at the pictures.

One thing I will say though, is after talking to a very nice kid from New Jersey a few years back, he told me something interesting, the people who do the damage and make a nuisance of them selves have nothing to do with UE. They’re either bored teenagers looking for somewhere to drink, do drugs and other things, homeless people or criminals looking for somewhere to hide stuff.

Not people taking photos just for the love of preserving the past. I also don’t want to generalise all teenagers, I was a very well behaved one myself, probably too well behaved lol 😀

That’s my input lol I’ll go back to lurking now 😀

The only reason it was used that day I assume, was because there was a horrendus cross wind, I didn’t see them return so couldn’t say if they landed on it or not.

Sounds like Scampton will be ruled out anyway, from what I’ve been hearing on the local news. unless its the arrows out BBMF in lol  😀

Coningsby have a shorter runway, I don’t know the number, I’ve only seen them use it once, I have it on video though.

Personally I think your site is excellent, I’ve lived in Lincoln my whole life and never knew there was anything left of Skellinthorpe, I love what they’ve done with the timeline, so thank you for that 🙂

So is it the 225? the Echo was reporting a AN 124, there seems to be a lot of confusion about this lol, I might go and have a nosey but I’m avoiding the A15 anyway, I hate that road. We get a veiw of waddo approach from our doorstep but it’s too far to get any good photos, which is a shame.
