Well thanks for the link, though I know this document. You have to take into account that:
1.) This is a very old document and that the aircraft hasn’t demonstrated that range, so it’s at best an estimation.
2.) It’s the combat radius for the F-35C, we discussed the A.
We can just wait and see what the real figures are as I’m certain there will be more information available in the future. I could well imagine that the F-35 will offer a not to dissimilar range to the Eurofighter with ETs, but we have to take into account that this just includes 1000 l tanks for the Typhoon. Full internal plus external fuel for the Typhoon results in a total fuel load of just 7230 kg. If you take into account that these range figures are with external tanks in comparison to the F-35 with ~8300 kg of internal fuel and being clean, the Typhoon doesn’t fare bad! In other words a Typhoon with ~10% less fuel 1/3 of which is carried in ETs still offers a similar range to the F-35, while the later is clean!

And as Cola said the F-35s combat radius is with a hi-hi-hi profile, in comparison to the Typhoon’s hi-lo-hi.

It may be 7 in total if you count the internal bays and gun on the B & C models.
I was refering to usable external hardpoints however, so i still believe that the number is four.

The range of the F-35 on internal fuel is already greater than a Typhoon with EFTs. Now add EFTs on the F-35 on top of that.
And this is based on what? Your wishful thinking? According offical data the F-35A has a range of just 2222 km on internal fuel, while the Typhoon has a range of 2600 km on internal fuel. While I think it’s reasonable to assume that the F-35s range actually exceeds 3000 km, your claim definitely doesn’t hold water, nor can you back it up.
I haven’t heard any mention of the Rafale/Typhoon/etc… putting in the IR cameras, providing 360 degree coverage, and projecting the imagery on the pilot’s helmet display.
Well 360° azimuth and elevation coverage isn’t given or planned, though it’s claimed that the new DDM NG will offer a surveillance capability next to its usual missile warning function. Whether it will work out in a EODAS like capability remains to be seen, but the system won’t offer the elevation coverage of the EODAS anyway. Presentation of FLIR imagery is possible with the Typhoon’s Striker helmet, but the FLIR FOV is limited to the forward hemisphere.
That’s interesting as last year there were images of a Tornado F3 from QinetiQ used for Meteor trials. The aircraft actually returned without the missile… Appears that there are some things which have not been reported.

There are AMRAAMs on the fuselage stations here. The QRA outfit for the RAF is as described by Toan. Italians are sometimes also using one AMRAAM on their QRA aircraft.
not carrying medium to long range missiles during routine CAPs is not wise , I disagree with such decision .
Interceptors on “Scramble” duty are loaded and ready to take off in less than 10 minutes , even less in critical times .
You don ‘t have time to load up anything , you just rush and take off .

In peace times there is usually not need to carry BVR missiles and as said the RAF does fit AMRAAMs to its QRA Typhoons. Training missions are a different matter and you can certainly simulate AMRAAM shots, whether you have AMRAAMs loaded or not.

During training missions they rarely carry AMRAAMs, I haven’t seen many Typhoons with AMRAAMs attached.

this thread was first and foremost created to discuss the events during and around the ATLC in the UAE and everything which is publically available has been discussed to death.
With regards to your questions:
1.) Typhoon’s are mostly operating in pairs, though this depends on the mission
2.) In most cases Typhoons carry two ASRAAM/IRIS-T and usually one, but sometimes to drop tanks
3.) Cross Eye is a jamming technique not a separate jammer. At least in theory the Typhoon’s ECM system should be able to do X-Eye jamming in the forward hemisphere, to do so in the rearward hemisphere would require another rearward facing jamming antenna and it appears that such an antenna is not present, this includes Italian Typhoon’s as well.
Captor-D says that it can also be used to “jam” emissions.

Its a pitty you can not read the thesis work once posted here (I think you remember).
Maybe I’m able to run it through a translation software, I still have it on my HD. It was that ~80 pages pdf if I recall correctly.
It also has an ECM capability using the third channel with Captor-D and it has controlled side lobe reduction.
Already Captor-C features the third channel, but it’s not for ECM but ECCM. The Captor features specific hardware and algorithms called ILIC/AnderWave. There isn’t much known, except that prediction algorithms are used to keep a track even when the radar temporarily looses it.
What we now need to know is which Ariel the Typhoon is using , is it still the Mk2 or the newest Mk3 ?
There are no newer information available, but given the fact that the Mk3 was already in the prototype stage back then I could imagine that it is in fact the version now found on production aircraft.

Phased array just indicates an electronic scanning device, this could be either PESA or AESA.
For your scenario it would highly depend on various factors, of course you can draw a scenario which favours your favorit plane, whether this would work out that way is a totally different question.
I am not here for a pissing contest but the first true omnirole fighters were the F16 block 60, the rafale and the Super hornet and now the F15 AESA. previous aircrafts like those mentioned were multirole it you stick to dassault’s definition.
You can’t perform simultaneous TF or sea search while scanning and engaging air threats with the aircrafts you quoted for instance. That’s swingrole or multirole but not omnirole.
I didn’t say that The RBE2 was superior to the captor M. They are two different radars with a different philosophy of use with respective pros and cons.
Is that really how “omnirole” is defined by Dassault? I was more of the impression that omnirole indicates the fact that the Rafale can perform various mission which previously required a number of dedicated types (AA, SEAD, CAS, anti-shipping, recce, nuclear strike etc.). The Rafale is indeed one of the first aircraft capable to do different things at the same time, though the radar isn’t the only factor and it appears to be just possible with the single seater.

Not that illogical at all. The F-22 is considerably more agile and manoeuvrable than the F-15. The statement could simply have meant that he wasn’t able to point his nose on the Raptor and was therefore unable to “put his weapons on it”.
Little known doesn’t change the fact that it existed before and that the USAF or whom ever changed the definition.
