The thing about movies like Top Gun, Pearl Harbour etc, is that they are made as mass entertainment for the pop corn munching public at large.

There’s absolutely no point in complaining about the technical inaccuracies as an aviation enthusiast. They don’t make movies on that scale for aviation enthusiasts.

The constant harping on the BOB forum about what’s right and wrong about various WWII films is unbelievable. It’s not for you, it’s for dumb and dumber with nothing else to do on a Saturday night.

So why make the pretence of historical accuracy then? Why not make Pearl Harbour a Fijian attack on Yarmouth harbour by flying kippers?
It would be just as believable and more entertaining. If it isn’t accurate don’t try to make out it is, I can’t wait to see the Few, no doubt a band of heroic American pilots will save Britain from the baddies who will no doubt have ****e Hollywood fake British accents as all the baddies do :rolleyes: !
