Interesting , I though the Sniper program was just a cosmetc one to make Mig 29 a NATO toy . Too bad the romanians retired their upgraded Migs 29 . I would like to know why .

Peru once had an important fishing industrie ( but its still significant ) which was devastated buy illegal fishing . Good to know Peru’s authorities are now on alert . While in Brazil our P3’s arrival goes far from happening . 😡

Putin will go to Brazil next week too.

Probably will try to sell the SU-35.

    Watch the space agreements.

Yep , and Lula gonna visit him around april . maybe ther we gonna buy , who knows , Su35

Just for curiosity : Vietnam , South Corea , Pakistan , Canada are going to visit us this month a very tiring program for our president 😮

P.S: Just read GodenDragon’s link . Hope Argentine really got those 20 billions

As far as aviation is concerned, Brazil through Embraer is actually ahead of almost everyone in Asia. In my view, until the ARJ-21 gets done and is selling well to Chinese airlines, no one in Asia can claim any lead over Brazil.

Hmmm , could you tell me more about this ARJ-21? I though Embraer got allied witha chinese equivalent ( forgot its name 🙁 ) with getting in mind a state monopoly .

China to invest US$20b in Argentina

Yeah I read that , but chinese autorities , according to a good reputation economics brazilian newswpaper called Valor denied such amount of money . In fact according to the same , Argentine’s “more informed people on chinese proposals” expect to get around 10-15 billions from what I remember . Anyway , independent of the value chinese gonna invest there , it is a smart move from China to diversify their commodities supplier . And surely Argentine need this money since from their default they dont got any serious foreign investment . Both sides have much to gain . 🙂

This is one step from being a mass-produced item that will make satellite affordable for the third world.

True , many claims its the most succesful spatial program in the third world

P.S: I read somwhere that Brazil might receive the same amount of investment . I think it was through Valor also .

Interesting I though indians wasted much more . There spending level is very low compared to China . Flogger’s numbers are welcome . In fact I think numbers are allways necessary for a good debate . 🙂

Sure some of its statement was diplomatic but I dont doubt FAB has good training comparable to France ( an important NATO member ) since we had amazing victories using AMX or F5 ( not yet upgraded ) in simulated battle agains more modern hardware form other countries ( F16’s and M2000 to be more precise ) . And good training is more important at my view to be “ready for a war” than good hardware since its very comon to see F5 pilots at Top Gun school beats F15 F16s , the last ones piloted by low experienced pilots . And yes Brazil has a huge military budget specially if you compare it to our neighbours but around 80% of it goes to wages and things like that ,( I dont think other forces around the world spends on personnal as much as we do but Im not sure ) , but fortunelty our budget is 50% of what other countries in South America as a whole spends in military budgets .

the Chilean air force is in the process of integrating the Derby to their F-5, they’ve installed already the ELTA M-2032 among other things
    Camaro.

Brazil is putting an italian one capable of launching 2 AMRAAMs at the same time ( forgot its name but its the same tiype Pakistan is putting on their fleet I think ) , but no previson of aquiring BVR missiles .
