Here are more details of the “indigenous cruise missile”. Ok its for the Astros 2 MRLS but from what I know the air launched version will be a variant of this :

    http://www.army-technology.com/projects/astros/index.html#astros4

And there is a paragraph which says :

Avibras has developed a Tactical Missile for launch from ASTROS II. The autonomously-guided Astros TM will have a range of 300km and can be fitted with a variety of warheads

The Carnaval in Rio is the most famous, but, only for the parade. If you want to have a lot of fun with party 24 hours aday during almos seven days, go to Bahia. The Carnival there is on the streets, people from all over the country go there and is really enjoyable. If you wanna see beautiful people, go there.

I agree with A-29 but anywhere you decide to go Im sure you gonna have a lot of fun! Good trip .

The thing is, a K-8 can be fitted with any of the avionics the Super Tucano has, the only downside of the K-8 would be that it would be a little more expensive to operate, but don’t forget it has much better performance. I would even task the K-8 for some CAS in the AF, something the Super Tucano would not be suited with.

Still I would not want to put my Super Tucanos in harms way of MANPADS, they are slow and very vulnerable despite their low signature.

I think Super Tucanos have chaff/flares launcher as well as RWR but Im not sure .

I do not agree with you.
It is not a limited turbo prop aircraft. It has the latest state of the art avionics available, quite advanced, data link, HOTAS, glass cockpit, NVG capable. Also capable of firing AAM (Sidewinder class of missiles such as the Brazilian Piranha), two .50 machine guns, one on each wing, capable of 1.5 tons of ordnance, including PGM. ItΒ΄s cheaper to operate than the K-8 and for FAB needs, has all avionics that are currently being applied to the fleet of F-5s and AMXs and in the future to the new fighter.
As in the amazon region, all drug dealers did not use fast transports jets, it fits perfectly for the mission. Colombia and Peru has a huge success in downing drug transports aircrafts with its armed versions Tucanos (AT-27).
FAB tested in the past its fighter jets in intercepting small airplanes and the results were not so good.
FAB has at least 12 two seaters AMXs. If funds permit, we will be acquiring another batch of AMXs which will bring the total of 15 two seaters (in fact one was lost in an accident)

Er… A29< Ive read on the lat Airforce Monthly that FAB gave up aquiring AMX-Ts cause of low funds and now FAB is negotiating with South Africa airforce the aquisition of some of their mb???? to extend the use of Xavantes to 2010 .

I think one of the factors that helped Embraer was the worldly succesful ERJ145 whichi would low costs in maintenance and also its previous succesful adaptation for military purposes with selss to Brazil , Greek and Mexico .
