Maybe in that the Walrus was also designed by Mitchell? Or would that sort of information not been known at the time?
Me210/410? Do you know what happened to this engine? There are a few interesting bits in the Fisherman’s museum but then I guess you know that already.
I find the flyers a useful reminder that Shoreham is approaching Andy, but yes a more colourful one might be a bit more beneficial.

It mentions freezing them so you can do them over time
Indeed freezing is the standard practice when dealing with a quantity of water damaged material which cannot be treated strait away. Do it quickly as mould appears really fast on damp paper, but remember to separate each item in the freezer (put each book in a freezer bag) so that they do not stick together, that way you can take them out one at a time and dry them out as time allows without the panic of trying to get everything dry now.
Interesting unit based at Scampton:

I think it was the earlier mark Spits upto about the mark9 that had this type of oxy regulator. Sure somebody who knows more than me will be aong shortly to confirm or otherwise. If the glass is broken on the gauges it might be a good idea to get it replaced as the faces of these gauges have radium paint on them, the dust from which you do not really want to inhale.
Very nice! Tempest possibly as I don’t think Hurricanes had Gyro gunsights (GGS) and the bottom knuckle is definitely not Spitfire. I’d happily swap for magic beans etc!
you beat me too it, definitely a Hawker type with that radias stalk.
Is this correct? I assume the mirror itself is, but was this mounting ever used on Spitfires?
No this mirror is a bullet mirror from a 50’s racing car, seller has been infromed, and replied “no evidence that this type of mirror was not used”
see here for a replica item of this type of mirror:

yep Stephen Silburn is the man you need, he has worked on some of my helmets and always does a top notch job. He also makes replica helmets which are fantastic. He does not have a website but trades as izavailable on ebay and usually has a couple of items listed so you should be able to contact him that way.
Here is my brief conversation with him. That said, if someone buys it without doing even a very simple check they might deserve what they get.
Dear vongold,
Nice grip but from a Harvard. Google AH2242 spade grip.

Reply in your email program or through My Messagesyep i know but thanks
If that is the case then if it is brought to ebay’s attention I would feel they are obligated to end the listing, though I wouldn’t hold my breath. Whilst I realise that the antiques world has always been “caveat emptor” if a real auction house represented a lot as something it wasn’t knowingly, they would be liable to legal action. Just makes me mad that ebay seems to flount the laws of selling under false pretences and allows such listings to run.
Although I have received a reply from e-bay regarding my question

What was the gist of the reply?
I’ve asked the question, let’s see the reply!

The seller must know this is Harvard as it was previuosly listed as such and very recently. Ebay is very hot on pulling miss leading listings if there is copyright infringment. But would they do anything if contacted over an item such as this that I suspect is intended to catch the novice/unwary collector out?
