Wow, that’s an impressive bit of thread resurrection! I shall watch that in the next day or so, Steve, thank you very much for posting it!

I have kept an eye on V7497 over the years – at one point I had a letter, via the good offices of a certain Andy Saunders, from one of the dig team with some photos and a tiny piece of her Form 700, but I haven’t found it since a house move (it’s in there…. somewhere!). I was amused to see, from the gateway into the field, that had crashed somewhere I’d been past many times.

Gotta admit that I’m doing the same, Stuart – after 20 years (I think I might actually have been here a bit longer than the  data suggests, I think it’s counted from an update way back when), I’m damned if I’m going to abandon ship utterly while there’s still a little life.

You still in the same place? I mustmustmust visit the museum before they build over the whole thing… It’s just when, and getting a day off doing stuff for Mum…

F W Maitland-Emmet had been flying a Brisfit from St Edward’s School until about 1936 (I bet you lot can tell me what happened to that), so there were at least a couple in the area in the mid ’30s, plus the WoTG frames (already part of a shed by then?).

I think that just muddies the water, TBH, but posted on the off chance it might lead to something helpful.

I’m assuming anything in the bushes at Enstone, where I think big lumps of the Bristol Freighter are still in a heap, has long since been either removed or has turned to Daz?

(unlikely to be helpful, I know, but who knows what ideas might come from stuff)

For a nation  famed for their style, the French really have built some fugly aircraft, haven’t they?

It seems to depend on the browser – it’s stationary on Firefox at home, but still moves with Chrome at w**k.

Just when I was thinking it was time to bog off elsewhere, we have new threads. Hmm, maybe I should hang around?
