I was thinking about an agircultural polytunnel though the ‘car port’ probably won’t blow away!
It’s not airworthy so does’nt have to be at an airfield. I was hoping a museum might have room or a farmer might have an empty barn.
Thank you for identifying from what aircraft the Thistlegorm parts are from. I’ve always wondered but no one has been able to say until now. I’ll have to buy a copy of the magazine.
I am researching Flying Officer Peter Carter who was killed on 18th October 1940 after becoming lost in fog over the Surrey Hills. I understand there is a reference to him in the book and was wondering if there is a photograph?
Thank you.
Thanks for your help. I’ve since found out that the canopy is from a Martinet but fortunaterly as well as the set for the restoration, they also have a spare set. I look forward to visiting the museum!
I thought the F15 display was fantastic. And for people who didn’t think a jet should be there, it performed BEFORE the start of the show and the traditional Spitfire start.
Have you spoken to local dive clubs and researced the known dive sites in the area? If you pick anything up on the sonar I’d love to join the dive! Please keep me informed of your progress. Good luck.
I’m surprised that there is not more interest to save them. Oh well, I guess they’re just old aeroplanes after all.
In East Grinstead there is Lancaster Drive, Stirling Way, Fulmar Drive, Merlin Way and Pegasus Way near the Queen Victoria Hospital and Guinea Pig Pub.
11th March 2007. A Headcorn Parachute Club Beaver failed to get airbourne (sadly the pilot was killed) and hit the Super Sabre. The nose was destroyed and the gear bent.
I would leave them to get on with it. When the tadpoles get a little larger you could offer them a chunk of meat such as liver. Attach a peice of string to it so you can pull it out before it starts to go rotten.

Thank you.
I bought it as recovered in late 1941 from a Boulton Paul Defiant. I’ve been trying to check its authenticity.
Thank you but I was hoping for a bit more info!
Would this instrument have been used as early as 1941?
Ivan, is it true you are offering to finance the rebuild to flight for the aircraft that gets the most votes???
