Oh well, I’m quite happy just as long as I’m flying on something !!!!!
It would have been nice to go on a 200 for one last time though…
when are they being retired???
Paul.
Thanks for that!!!! I was going to book on the earlier flight as well!!!!!!!
What a shame.
Oh well.

I don’t disagree that this man has something to show for his money but at what real cost? It will be scrap in months I promise you….
I am sorry if I made the guy out to be a fool. It’s just that where I come from, if someone pays out twice the value for something that clearly is scrap, then they are considered just that…..
If people were so concerned in the first place about this man getting the “right advice”, perhaps they could have considered contacting him via e-bay to warn him of his folly???
Paul.
David, I’m sorry if I caused anyone offence by calling the guy a fool. The reason that I said this was that he has clearly not researched the pro’s and cons of taking on this aircraft and seems to know nothing about it. It’s just my opinion.
It would be wonderful if this Vulcan could be saved but lets get down to brass tacks, it’s not really going to happen is it? Be it planning permission or the impracticalities of moving the thing, XL391 is clearly not much longer for this world. I hope that this now qualifies my previous statement.
Paul.
See, I told you the man was a fool…!
Eh? I never said that!!!! No, I meant he should have given his money to the XH558 restoration fund instead of wasting his money on this aircraft.
I think the mans a fool anyway.
Paul.
He must be F****ing mad!
Health and safety will have a field day if he tries to re-erect it somewhere else.
I bet he never even went to see the thing before he paid for it.
He will never get planning permission even if he manages to move it anywhere without it falling to bits.
If he is so flush, he should have given it to the 558 fund instead.
Some people.
Paul.
Well after the Nimrod work, what exactly are they going to do at Woodford?
Which site is that on? I hope it is coming back.
I thought BAe were going to close Woodford soon.
Paul.
A question:
Has the MAN Concorde had her engines removed? and also, why do they not power up her internal lights Surely this could not be too difficult to achieve?
Paul.
This phenomenon is linked closely with pre 1947 ufo folklore. If you look at most books by authors such as Jenny Randles you will find references to this phenomena which covered most of the globe from the mid 1800’s onwards.
Paul.
If yo look on the RAF Mildenhall website, the ‘air fete’ link at the top has gone. It’s always there. I don’t think they will have another show there unfortunately….
A few years ago at the BAe Lostock families day, PA474 flew over and one woman in the crowd (who I presume worked there) said “so where do our missiles go on that then?”
No, I meant the engines! I believe that you are selling the centre one or is that not the case now?
Is there a possibility that you may run the engines?
It would be great to hear those speys again!
Paul.
