That’s really excellent news, glad you like our Pony!

It has been around for a good few years now.
Originally built for Spencer Flack. I remember seeing it when it first arrived at Elstree back in about 1981
Lovely looking little biplane!
Took a while to get activation sorted but well worth it.
Bit of a shame to write off future work. Unfortunately you missed the sale.
If you like P-51 Mustangs then you seriously would not want to miss the D model on its way!
The flights we had in the real one to get the best sounds, cost a bit more than £45 quid!!
Incredible!
That must have taken some time.
Well done.
Pretty sure it’s the 1985 show.
Was there in ’86 and it was sunny!
1987 would have been the debut of the Blenheim. for its few weeks it was in the air.
From an airshow accident related thread:
On 18 Sep 1948 3 Mossies were lost:
TE808 Stalled into Battle of Britain crowd after slow roll, killed the crew and several spectators at Manston,Kent.
TA507 No 51 MU Stalled during aerobatic display Lichfield ,Staffs. Crashed on hospital, killing crew and 10 people on the ground.
VA887 No139 Sqdn. Dived into the ground during slow roll Coningsby,Lincs crew killed.
Sorry it was sad news!
1970’s aerobatic documentary
Back in the 70’s I can vaguely remember a documentary following a British Aerobatic pilot through the WAC. The pilot was Neil Williams and our family watched with interest as at the time a friend of my father’s was getting aerobatic training from him at Elstree. That friend of Dad’s was Spencer Flack.
Can’t remember the year or location, sorry!, but it was based around Neil and his build up to flying in the competition, together with his views on what was being flown in front of him.
Somebody out there, hopefully can shed more light on this, pretty sure I didn’t dream it…or maybe…!
My last recollection of him was as a young lad in my first visit to Duxford in June 1977, flying the Yak-11 G-AYAK and Spitfire MH434.
Legends & Blue ray
Image wise it comes out very nicely on my Blue Ray player and regarding commentary, just press your audio button on your handset and that should do the trick;)
Worth having for the Horseman alone!
Albert
Back in June, she was due to go by road to North Weald, for engine fitting.
I remember standing on the wing of this aeroplane with Spencer Flack in 1979, as my father tried the cockpit for size and we helped him put her away for the day!
Looking forward to seeing her back in the air very soon.

Agreed, we have never really had a bad Legends and I agree that it would be nice to see some sort of list of expected participants, but it can work both ways. If a type is publihsed well in advance and people make a special effort to go and don’t read the forums, then they will be very dissapointed when they learn over the loudspeakers that it isn’t coming.
I regularly do read them, but I know myself as I was at a certain Kent show yesterday and probably would not have gone this year if the Vulcan had not been on the programme.
Trouble was tech problem kept it away. Can’t be helped but still dissapointing.

Lancaster over Hatfield?
Either you are ahead of yourself or it’s going to be appearing!?
Live at the end of the airfield so would be interested.
Albert
Sorry,
Should have looked before leaping!
Albert
Looks like Mr. Grey in ‘Twighlight Tear’.
Ah, miss that Big Old Bird the P-47D ‘No Guts No Glory!’
Nice shots!
Albert
I live very close to where the end of the old runway would have been, attended open day airshows from about 1971 onwards and have been keeping an eye on this thread, keep the pics coming, great stuff.
Only wished I had lived there in the active days.
As a child living in Hatfield and much further away, remember the 125’s and odd Trident bashing the circuit!
Son of DH, they have done a wonderful job of restoring those buildings, just a shame they didn’t keep more of it!
