    Slingsby Firefly at Old Warden

    Regarding the Slingsby Firefly at Shuttleworth,

    Yes it was 1996. The May Bank Holiday. The first 2 day show at the site as I recollect.

    Pete Clark was the unfortunate Pilot. He completed more spins than his usual routine, I think as I remember, in an effort to reposition display access wise, He then found himself too low and did an inverted push out and impacted the copse of trees in the middle of the airfield.
    One of five accidents, I have had the unfortunate experience of witnessing.

    TF-51D Yes indeed a TFC aircraft, Ed Shipley based State side.

    He is looking to bring the four ship ’51 display to Legends next year.

    Agreed the commentary was a little over done but I have to admit that I look forward to Bernard Chabert’s pronunciation of several flying terms.
    Met him after the show and what I nice guy!

    Great video and a wonderful day. Especially for a big Mustang fan.
    What amazes me is that with what seems to be less and less aircraft each year, it is still the finest Warbird show.
