I went there 1976…F-14 and F-15 performed…and F-16 IIRC.

This is a fact..my plane was intented to take people on sightseeing and land on frozen lakes etc.
But I got mixed up with lbs and kg when doing the thrust calculation with propeller and engine power. I have a new top speed at 289 km/h (180 mph ).
262 km/h ( 163 mph ) for the 75% power. Even at the economy cruise it will go 200 km/h ( 125 mph ). Well thanks for bringing this up…I might have forgotten the whole project, but now it started to look good again.
It also means that it would take 37,5 hours to beat Dick Rutan record from 1979 ( Anghorage Alaska to Turks Island ) using 419 kilos of fuel…leaving just 450 also for the aeroplane to keep it under 1000 kg with 2 pilots ( I may have to modify it a bit …when knowing how tight it goes ).
I checked the ULS 912 engine specs and that is about right.
At 30% power the engines would only burn 16 liters ( 8 l each )…I actually designed a 9 seater ultralite transport concept based on this fact ( speed at 30% would be 101 mph ( 163 km/h )). Burning only amazing 1,1 liter / passenger / 100 km.
Unreal story…wife indeed was patient !
Miles Gemini is cool. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miles_Gemini
Wasn’t there a czech design pretty similar too ?

Aero 45 with 7 occupant ( max ).
It is like half sized DH89 in many respect..a tad faster. Wing area per occupant is pretty close too.
ANy specs available for this handy looking 14+2 seater ?
Never mind; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evektor_EV-55_Outback
Rapide beats all commuters in economy ?
I did some calculations and I figured that only the big jets flying high fully laden beat the economy you get when operating a DH89 Dragon Rapide….all faster prop planes are less economical.
Is there a lesson to be learned from this ?
😎
How about a retro Dh Dragon Rapide with 2 x 912 ULS for 9 people..lighter than original etc.
£ 800 000 worth ?
Thanks..that is a quite a bunch still.
I seemed to have been able to do the same…I lost my signature on my one of my post at the bottom. Maybe there is a mild bug here ?
ASW22 BL
It has to be.
Indeed I did.
I should add that it is, I agree, lovely, it’s just not an ASW22 BL.
Is it Ventus 2 ?
