How I see it is that 20% more thrust when Cd has’t risen will yield a hefty increase in superscruise speed.
Since wingloading doesn’t affect a thing why would weight ?
P-40 sets a high standard for a fighter ceiling.

Seeing as how the Gripen has a much higher wing loading than the P-40, clearly the Gripen can’t reach the altitude of the P-40.
I think we were discussing whether F-35 can reach P-40 altitude.
With its 730 kg/m2 wing loading…is F-35 able to reach 10 000 meters in altitude..or even 8 km ???
Saab does not mention as it is well known fact that Gripen supercruises.

FBW seems to have no undertanding of this subject at hand.
E has 20% more punch than the C/D model.
Also he/she has no understanding of the wingloading affecting the aerodynamics/handling etc.
Case closed.
Gripen has a half the wingloading of the F-35.
I bet it supercruises as promissed…could it be M1.4 ?
When will we know how fast E/F will supercruise ?
Supercruise M1.2+.

Some say Gripen cannot supercruise…nor does it do M2 ?
How could you possibly fix that with software ?
Does it really matter…its maintenance is cheap.
F-35 cannon is useless; http://www.janes.com/article/77408/f-35a-gun-struggles-with-accuracy
Could it be tuned to go M1+ ?
