As I know the BUK can send “firesticks” up to 18 km altitude…at least 14 km ! I would not fly in that kinda air space…unless piloting a SR-71 at 65 000 ft doing M3.

The BMW 801 was cooled by forced air from a magnesium alloy cooling fan, 10 bladed in the initial models, but 12 bladed in most engines. The fan rotated at 1.72 times the crankshaft speed (3.17 times the propeller speed).[11] Air from the fan was blown into the center of the engine in front of the propeller gearing housing, and the shape of the housing and the engine itself carried the air to the outside of the cowling and across the cylinders. This Gauntlet has been flying for many years. Nice aeroplane, shame about the non standard Alvis Leonides engine.

This cow almost beats this Vyborg based I-153.
As late as summer 1944 one of these scored two Soviet Airacobras.
The church tower on the right is all that is left of the ( Tuomiokirkko ) domechurch of Viipuri ( Vyborg ) after 305 mm railway gun had obliterated it ( and YMCA etc ).

Okay. You have to see this from a bigger perspective. Finland did not want to become part of the Soviet Union and we had to have aeroplanes with national insignia/enblem and blue and white swastika was easy to accept….no one had the crystall ball in 1918 to be able to see that count Eric von Rosen would become an “evil nazi”.
