The fact that one missile does not bring down an armed twin engine fighter is not a new phenomena.

Battle hardened settlers were faced with same dilemma in the 18th century.

A-10 seems to have 1/3 RCS of SU-25.

TopSpeed -Just noticed your signature. Bill Lear wasn’t the originator of that one. If it looks right it flies right was being banded around in the 1930’s.

I mean if you want supersonic air through your inlet, you may modify the inlet geometry and compress it by shockwaves and remove the fan altogether. engine becomes a ramjet. In fact this is how SR-71’s engines work, at high speed it modifies its geometry so air bypasses compressors and engine becomes a ramjet.

I tought I just read that it is not a ram jet..but it has been cooled with by pass vents at high speed.

Probably pretty similar.

Armor is nice but CAS birds need up to date electronic protection and DIRCM. That is why I am looking fore-ward to SU-25SM3 so much.

Pretty amazing…this wasn’t just a regular bird strike I assume.

High airflow engines close to the ground would be an issue unless the parking ramps, taxiways and runways are immaculate.

Buff would go close to 900 km/h wih TP400 engines.

So far there’s only the prototype in 144 and 72 from Trumpter and the pre-serials 201x will come this year … and Anigrand has a resin kit in 48.

Yes Anigrand has 1/48 scale kit.

I am not convinced about the cheap part. But anyway, compreg wood was used as propeller blades back in WW2. I don’t know how useful this is for you, but this article from 1939 might be interesting. The article might be outdated due to advances in technology, but it was interesting to read anyway.

“Moderatly cheap” is not very accurate term. Lets say it may be a lot more economical in the long run than nanotubes.

Pregwood is indicated 1.35 dense and has 6% water suction/absorbtion in 24 hours ( better varnish it ). I found the same link day before yesterday.

Wood could be used to make ac lite…this was also the main goal for Horten brothers, Wright brothers and even Henry Ford.
