A friend of mine ( WOP/AG Jack Bromfield) was flown back in a B17 after being liberated from Stalag luft 1 by the russians. He was shot down on the 5th january 1945, 158sdn, Handley page Halifax mz432
It looks a bit like a North American P-64
I have donated things to museums, only to see them never shown or got rid of. I was also a volunteer at a local museum. When the politics changed and we had to close. It was very hard to track down the people who had donated items, many had passed on. so we couldnt always return items. So now i would never donate to any museum. Its better to sell as at least who ever pays money for things, they should look after it.
This is the second time i have this on ebay.
The oly 2b is built useing aerolite glue witch has no problem, unlike casen witch must be kept dry. A few oly 2b’s are are still flying. I hear the cost of putting BGA538 back in the air was nearly as much as the glider was worth. Some parts of 538 will fly again in its sister ship at Dunstable in the near future.
The pic’s posted by PU-597,(my son). The top three are of the Graf Zeppelin when it visted Cardington on the 26th April 1930. On the original you can see the cabin at the front below the bows. The R100s cabin,s are much further back.
The next four pic’s, The airship on the mast near the sheds is the R100. The airship flying is the R101, which has more pointed fins.
anyone would think my son has done all the work on my minor.

I aways remember John swinging the prop of G-AROY then running around to climb in the cockpit, as i was standing by G-AGTM’s wing tip. Then waving to him, when i was a member of Russavia crew at Duxford.
Many thanks for the information. The Singapore 111 prop is 12ft6ins. The prop boss’s are around 2ft. I will post some some photo’s. Plus one of my Vickers FB14 prop made by Vickers at Crayford
A lone Dornier Do17p did machine gun Dunstable, high street i think in 1940. My father and many other people saw it. It was in the local news paper at the time. It definitely was a Do17p
This information on the registration came from the book British Gliders by P.H.Butler.
I went just after christmas and a friend went three weeks ago. Up stairs was closed, the Grahame White hanger was shut. Half the Battle of Britain was also closed when i went. We complained, they want us to write to complain, as they where having funds cut. I think it is a disgrace of a national museum
I have been told their was a Luton Minor hanging up in the roof space at the London Gliding Club, Dunstable for many years. Any idear’s of which Minor this was.
