MAKS starts in a few days. Would be the right place to show current customers that there is a future in Russian tactical combat aircraft. Shall see.
We can only keep our fingers crossed. If not, then MAKS 2009 may be the year…

At least the Channel 1 and NPO Saturn pictures/drawings do have a similar appearance so you never know how far off or close they are to the actual design. Paralay does also have some of those CAD drawings like Channel 1 showed.
To Paralay’s defense, he never says that the future fighters that he has drawings for are the real thing. He just adds them in there as speculation and also as his hobby of drawing possible designs from rumors. He has also done that in the MiG 4.12 and MiG 1.27 sections.

Below is a size comparison of some of the MMRCA contenders, I do not have a good line drawing of F/A-18 Super Hornet, Gripen, & MiG35, so have shown MiG 29K instead, and its a F16-C.
Su37, M2K and LCA are for relative size.
Here is a quesion that I do not have answer for: Is the pitot tube length part of the aircraft’s length? The drawing here is as part of the a/c length. Please let me know if this is not correct, I will rescale the aircrafts without the pitot tube lenghts.
I thought the Rafale had a shorter effective length; going by the above, the Rafale is actually longer then Typhoon from Nosecone to engine exhaust (ignoring pitot tube and tip of tail).
Regards.
This is really cool, good work. You don’t realize just how big the Su-27/35 is until you see it placed next to the others!

Didn’t MiG show India a new 5th Gen design…not the MiG-35, but a totally new design? I thought maybe that one would be included in the offer, unless that’s for further out in the future or possibly nothing happened to that MiG proposal.

Hi,
Yeah, I included the 76mm guns because it is/was the intended armament but I know it wont be fitted. Never the less a very nice design. Shiplover is planning to draw a deck view for it and a CTOL version as well. How is it coming shiplover?
Very nicely modified. Just one thing: NEVER EVER SAVE IN JPG!!!!! Always use gif. Jpg tends to screw up the imagines and adds color fragments all over the place.
To participate in that discussion I drew a modified Commadanti class some time ago which should fit perfectly as well:
Glad you´d like to help. Have to hurry though, not many modern Italian ships left out there:-))) How about Garibaldi?
Regards.
MConrads, your drawings always kick-ass. Great job and keep them coming. Do you have one of the new German F125?

From what I read, Merlock is correct, it is basically the Gowind 200 design but with a different propulsion system that allows it to reach those high speeds, so if you see a picture of the Gowind 200, you are pretty much looking at the Fastwind. It is competing against the LCS designs being offered to Saudi Arabia by the US.
I’m not sure about the modularity of that design so my choice would actually be the new MEKO CSL design, combines the best of the MEKO modularity with the lessons learned from the Visby design, not to mention the high-speed >40knots.

Unless they are developing a top secret project, they don’t. It may be an Exocet missile (which they do have) or possibly a drone/UAV of some kind (which they also have and are developing).

Seeing the Brazilian tradition of European and French designs, Russia will have to offer an exceptional package for Brazil to accept a totally new aircraft. At least with the Rafale they are already used to the French designs, Mirage III’s and 2000’s. I wonder if a missile package from either country will also be offered, although I heard Brazil is partnering to develop the South African A-Darter missile (which may also include the Derby missile).

I always liked the YF-23 design better than the F-22, so if it looks closer to that, way to go Russia. Also, another benefit of that design was that the YF-23 was actually the stealthier of the two aircraft.
Has there been any other mention of MiG’s supposed lighter 5th Generation design? Whether it’s called the 1.27 or whatever…

Seeing how Brazil already has the C-295, I would say that the C-212 is probably the favorite.

So will Israel use a combination of the Barak-1 (for point defense) and Barak-2/Barak-8/Barak-NG for long range protection? Not sure if the Barak-1 will be able to use the bigger launcher that the Barak-8 will use.

If you look into the I-21 thread ive posted a news peace quoting a Russian general or something or other saying the I-21 has been on display at international airshows
I think it’s just a bunch of BS by the Russian General as people that go to those types of shows would have certainly noticed the I-21, unless they keep it hidden and shown on a per invitation only basis which would then really stretch the meaning of “being on display”.

Well if they are doing wind tunnel tests and construction is starting, it’s only a matter of time before we see something, even if only a model.

So close yet so far…oh well, the wait continues.
