    Hello All,
Thanks all for the valuable suggestion. Yes..the Sigma lens is not that great ..as were with some folks at the Airshow 🙂
I had been on Saturday and Sunday, so I’ll shoot on Saturday, learn from the mistakes and correct on Sunday.

On Saturday it was fully clouded and on Sunday it was partially clouded, and in my excitement I did lots of mistake in metering (Centre weighted, Manual, ISO 400 (mostly) ) .. after every series of photos I would examine the histogram and the subject to see if I did any mistake, and try to compensate in the next shot.
White balancing was mostly in setting for Clouded, except on Sunday where some times I changed to sunlight.

Also as the direction (I was pointing to) changed so did the light intensity on the subject there.. well I don’t know how to adapt to that.

About the metering, I would look at some grey cloud (that I would guess to be at 18% grey) and get the metering, shoot some shots, quickly check the histogram and see if some details was available of the subject, Well the LCD display on 400D is not that great, but Okay for an amateur like me.

It was a Great experience, here are some of the photos I uploaded. Did some resizing due to size limits using MS Paint.

    Thanks

    Hi George, Thanks!
    1) I agree with you, normally I set it to manual with center wtd, but on this camera I seem to get Sky painted white.
    2) I understand. 🙂
So far in my experiments with this new camera has yielded not to promising results. 🙁

I am not able to analyze the mistake. uploading the image of CH-53, Shot at full zoom of 300mm (sigma) so I assume 480mm (effective) ? I tried to adjust the exposure to get blue sky and good details of CH-53, but That dint happen.
It was hand held, ISO 400, f8, 1/1000sec, manual.

May be a stupid question, but couldn’t restrain… Wont the pilots be still wearing the Helmet when they are winched off by the chopper ?, I guess that’s what I have seen during the demos.

    Hi Delta!,
I have Canon Elan7 (Also known as EOS30), and use it with Sigma 70-300mm/f4-5.6. and Sigma 28-90mm/f3.5-5.6. This is Not a Fast Lens ..but can manage with faster films. In your case (Digital camera) you don’t have to worry about it. But look for camera that can shoot multiple frames per sec and Faster lens (like say: 70-300mm/f4 ) or better still 500mm (non tele lens).
Since I own a Canon, I would recommend Canon 🙂 …it can also shoot 3fps (Frames per sec). Which you may want to do while for faster subjects.
Also suggest, you post a query at http://www.photo.net

I think the work on ATV is going on fine, but may be a bit slow, The design of Reactor is similar to Russian and does not use the Heavy W@ter (D2o) but uses some metal in molten state… I guess its sodium (not sure), and one such reactor is already been made and used for research purpose.

I think RDX is a Plastic type explosive and categorized as C4 type. Also used for shaped charges, and had read that they may be used in Land mines and other sabotage kind of work, but not as primary explosive in rockets/Shells, Not sure of shaped charges in Anti-Armor shell to defeat the armor protection.
I am not sure but there are few explosives more powerful than RDX, but not widely used in Military as they are not stable.

I guess Iraq need not pay , I mean Cash.
Just that USA gets to take the Oil, and probably US will fly these planes, …and later Iraq will depend on US for all the spares.

Hi Distiller, That was good Info.
Wanted to know if the planes is made unstable by FBW software, will it help the plane become more agile ? wont it be like a Virtual instability ? How effective is it compared to a plane designed to be unstable and then FBW system ?

They say F-22 is very expensive, So they must have sent it to Asian region to reduce the manufacturing cost 😀
