At the end of last weeks episode they shown a preview of the next weeks show. They showed a man sitting behind a desk and just as I was thinking wasn’t that the man that used to run Ruskin Airways, one of his Dakotas landed behind him.
Of course they are going to struggle to shot her from and angle that doesn’t give away that she is not the same specification as a dambusters lanc.
just found this pic here with a quick google – https://www.foxnews.com/world/excavators-head-to-burma-hoping-to-uncover-buried-stash-of-wwii-fighter-planes
This could be handy. I need to get to France next year after Brexit. I could find some locals in hi-viz with gas lamps.
Now we just need a few glider replicas
And with clipped wings! Surely they all had full wingspan in the film?

Cheers Olly, it was a bit too far away for me to I.D. the undercarriage. And talking of things too far away I’ve just spent 10 minutes watching a Spitfire display over Burnham Green Village Day. Said village is over 2 miles from W.G.C. and I couldn’t I.D. the particular aircraft, but it will be one from John Romain’s stable (local lad). Perhaps I may find out later when the day’s pix appear on the Duxford thread.
from Datchworth it could have been the PR XI
I don’t agree with 1batfastards opinions, but I agree he has a right to have them without people be ‘Disappointed’. FIFA saw the poppy as a political symbol, but I think we’ve put them right on that. News is supposed to be impartial, you can’t where a party rosette on election night or a MAGA cap. They fought for a free world, so we can have our own opinions, but that doesn’t mean they all have to be the same.
‘Found’ in Lincolnshire. Doesn’t it still belong to the RAF then?
He was shot down once, from memory roughly between his Albatros days and getting his first Triplane. The head wound was said to be so deep that you could see the white of his skull. Must have worn extra protection afterwards. I think he was supposed to of had a bit of a relationship with his nurse. Someone on here will be able to give you much clearer details.
Any idea which Zlin was circling Colchester about 11.10 this morning, and where based..?…Nice to hear a straight 6…

the BBC has said 3 Spitfires are not affected. I’m assuming that means the Packard Merlin is alright.
Aren’t the carbs different on the Packards, that could be the problem.
Anyone else flying Rolls-Royce Merlin aircraft today?
EDIT – just thought the BBC’s information might be out of date and they think the BBMF still has 3 PRXIXs
Puma arrived today just as Duxford was closing. Just dropped off a hitch-hiker and went. I’m sure someone will be along soon with some better pictures.
