Is that a sarcastic suggestion? A Brewster Buffalo perhaps?
yes, sorry.
maybe they’ll have it out there for the 70th D-Day celebrations.
Why is it going to Canada?
it’s being swapped with a DHC Buffalo
I was told it was here to have supports made for shipment.
Went up with my 17 year old son. He was still excited by the airfix 1/24 Typhoon showed at Telford. The lady volunteers guarding the Typhoon invited us passed the barrier and he was get his nose into the footwells. We also had a chat with one of the young apprentices who will eventually be working on the Hampden and inspected the work so far. We got to fondle some pieces of Do 17. Also got some information on a cople of downed bomber crew from an expert there with his laptop.
Great day!
Collis, Mk XVIII TP280 flies in grey/green Sixty Sqn colours – is this colour scheme incorrect?
Sorry, I should have said camo and it looks like the XVIII was produced in grey/green.
The only options for a genuine XVIII scheme are Green/brown with RAF or SEAC roudels. Or an indian one in camoflage or bare metal maybe. But there is the one off target tug SM970 in bare metal.
Was that deemed to be the Skyraiders last kill then .
I wonder if they both have the kills under the cockpit.
Did the ‘Mosquito’ land anywhere else or buzz Hatfield or Sailsbury Hall. Would have turned a view heads if it landed at Duxford.
I thought the Sea Fury’s last kill was when one tipped a Fokker Triplane on it’s nose with it’s propwash the day we lost BBD at Duxford.
Fantastic!! Thanks for the heads up. I must catch up on the first 10 mins that I missed.
It would be nice to see an RAF VC10 retired next to a BOAC VC10 somewhere.
Dear Yank, you might be nearer an answer on Vokes filters than us in blighty. Didn’t Tom Blair have a Smudge made Vokes on his mark V and reverted to a standard filter soon after.
Not quite flying, looks more like taxying!
Glad to be of service mark. I had to get something right eventually. In hindsight the bloke in the cockpit is so obviosly italian. Sorry it wasn’t a new scheme.
I’m thinking I might have seen similar markings on an italian Spitfire. Although it might be a SEAC roundel seperating the digits.
Not sure if this is Aeronavale, but it’s french and colour:

Not sure that the foremost cabin window on the BAF Viscount is in the same place as the one on the Parcel Force cockpit. Is this really the donor aircraft?
