Just to let all know, took the trip up to Blackpool today to get some sunny shots of it in that location. According to an airport official who stopped by to see who I was, what I was doing; the new owner has been given another 3 weeks to get it moved.
With this being my first visit to XL391 since it arrived here and after all the talk of its condition I was actually surprised by how good it looked. Sure there’s lots of corrosion and it’s pretty weathered but generally with a bit of TLC and a repaint I’m sure it would have stood there another 20 years.
Lets hope that the whole airframe does get saved. Hope you all like the pics.
