indeed a lone FC-1 in simulations has been shown to defeat a high pack of 4 x F15C @ 40kft, a midpack of 4 x Rafale @ 20kft and at same time target and destroy 12 low flying Tornado GR4@ mach1 and 500ft and 12 stealthy Apache ALCMs.

scrap the Eurocamel and loser Rafale! where can we order ours ?

and btw Pakistan space program is also much superior to India’s. Musharaff himself said so and got wide play in various papers.

sealord, go to http://www.akashsam.com and click on the download link (slow) to get a PDF file with detailed info and photos of the entire battery system. the 3D search radar has been picked by the navy for its P28 corvette program also. and the Rajendra is the basis of the indian-WLR.

media reports early this year after the flurry of tests said developmental trials were done and it was upto army to test it whenever they wanted.

the last para is hogwash. all the russians want is first stab at upgrading their own gear which is a fair expectation. there is no question of india “pledging” to buy only russian stuff not when we are having such a good time with Israel – american quality at a israeli price.

posted on BR. the diff between RDM4 and RDM7 on the 10 new mirages is that RDM7 can track=8, attack=4 compared to track=4, attack=2. the Qatari RDY radars probably have same 8,4 numeric but better in other aspects probably.

havent a large number of Russian jews migrated to Israel since early 1990s. I have a sense many came from the old mil-industries and have found new jobs in Israel in same area. design ideas and knowledge of their prior work would certainly have helped …. R73 –> python family. people become productive when assured of a functioning govt, regular salary, housing, law n order, good tools and funding.

gentlemen its standard economics that a country starting with decades of lag in hi tech products must import/steal/develop all forms of technology at ANY COST to catch up so that the next generation has a more level playing field. consider india/china in 1970..nowhere really in aerospace at a time when america had already reached the moon. the current crop of projects like J-10/Tejas are catch up efforts meant to close to gap quickly to hopefully around 10 yrs behind the bleeding edge, a damn sight better than 30-40 yrs. so it doesnt really matter where the stuff came from so long as the locals develop the design n learning skills. it also doesnt matter if the stuff is a commercial or military success in the end, the technology base built in manpower and institutions is more important.
the next generation will work from a much more level situation…as they must if india/china are to fulfill their economic potential and start producing front-edge products from around 2030 onwards.

I suggest u all stop the fighting. it doesnt matter, the objectives are elsewhere.

star49s jealousy and bile is rapidly descending into incoherence and frothing-at-mouth.

I suggest he ease up and get some sleep – there’s going to be a never ending series of
    indian developments to froth about.

    welcome to the 21st century.

the worlds cheapest fighter jet is presently the F-7xx in PLAAF service 🙂 the FC-1 should be also be really cheap esp as it has no engine 🙂 and the rest is also left to customer for “plug n play”

they missed the word qualifier “4th gen”.

the US doesnt supply the mil-grade GPS signal to india so there’s no question of using that. since range is only 300km perhaps some ground or sea based means are used?

if the cartosat-1 and 2 start working properly, a lot of 3Dish imagery can be brought into picture permitting better route & static target selection.

btw I saw a Sri Lankan AN-12 cargo hauler at bangalore airport last night. I believe they now run cargo flights from bangalore, chennai and southern tamil nadu to lanka every night. nice to see the ageless old dawg still in action.
