We have the email, assuming there are not two people wishing to film inside the beaufighter. Like all things in aeroplane restoration it just takes awhile for a reply 🙂 .
Why not ask TFC? Simplest way surely?
” With technology allowing booking up to the night before maybe that is a message that needs to be pushed as we are all used to postal tickets?” Sort of what I said really
OK, I will bite.
Online ticket sales are not new and have worked to provide sell out attendance at Duxford last year. The price point is not a killer. I am going to a County show tomorrow and attendance/food/ other costs will be eye watering compared to an airshow. Interestingly the “acts” also largely pay to attend there as well!!
Duxford has different audiences for different shows. The May airshow maybe didn’t grab the usual attendees in the right way. With technology allowing booking up to the night before maybe that is a message that needs to be pushed as we are all used to postal tickets?
I guess we will all survive though.
Friends of TFC will produce a pilots list on TFC website when they do their Legends
review for supporters. We need to check that those who were listed to fly actually did what they were supposed to. Pilots eh 🙂
The latest post on the TFC diary page may provide some useful info: http://fighter-collection.com/cft/the-day-after-yesterday/
Just thinking you might have missed a few cool pics and video if you don’t drop in here regularly
Please come up to Fof TFC marquee we would like to shake your hand and make you welcome at Flying Legends
I like how he has the safety rope tied off so that if he falls he becomes a pendulum until such time as the tree trunk arrests his momentum 🙂
OK guys this is why fewer and fewer people post here: The tree saga. The guys are doing everything correctly the tie off points are correct. the guy on the ground will exit before sawing commences. If you don’t know the facts just don’t comment, it makes you look silly and professionals reluctant to post.
Very interesting. Hopefully, TFC will provide an update on WG655 in their next update too!
TFC currently provide a monthly hangar log as part of our package available to all our Friends supporters. If you wish to follow and get the facts then please feel free to join Friends of TFC, link click HERE.
Hi
You may find the last paragraph or so of the latest post here of interest. http://fighter-collection.com/cft/tfc-diary/ Normally Hangar updates are only available via our online Fighter Log to Friends of TFC. This update has been made available to all so you can read the facts rather than hearsay and internet rumour about the Sea Fury in question. Hope that helps.
Also today at Duxford there was a quiet birthday celebration for the 70th birthday of a long term Duxford resident : http://fighter-collection.com/cft/happy-birthday-g-fgid/ The Corsair model on the cake is that of Lindsay Walton’s ex Duxford based Corsair as nod to the aircraft types association with Duxford in “recent” times.
Steve Connors FL DVD are a beautiful work of art, each year.
I now enjoy watching the displays on the day in the knowledge that there is a record of the event.
Maulds video library is also an underrated and valuable resource for each aircraft.
I was talking to someone at the w/e about how airshows were before the internet…….
We live in fast moving times for moving pictures an sounds – I often wonder if we could film the BofB film on an iphone (c/w curly props) Only kidding folks.
I’ll raise you you a Spit MkXIV engine run and B25 landing and detailing thanks to Harry: http://fighter-collection.com/cft/relief/
