Calculate the the days between todays post on the listing and the display. Decide for yourself whether that means the Brisfit will fly “soon” or otherwise.

I have made my own interpretation but would not wish to influence others by posting it here.

However well done to Friends of TFC who seem to have the interests of the enthusiasts and the historical heritage of the aircraft involved well in hand at this years Legends event. I guess that the 609 signing will provide a few characters who we should all respect.

So her is a thought, and some of you may recognise the facts, like it or not.

Recently there was a project that required urgent action to save it from a fate .

I contacted one of the prime movers and put my money where it needed to be. My only stipulation was that I wanted back a proprtional value if the project was moved on.

The result was that political in-fighting meant the project was aborted in the form I subscribed to. The guy I donated to honourably refunded my investment. (appeciated).

I have lost interest in that project as aircraft interest me , politics don’t.

The point of this thread is this: If a relatively simple excercise involving part of a dead aircraft fails how the hell is an airworthy and complex project going to succed without a ruthless, respected and professional manager?

heres a thought first three flights:

    t21b glider Duxford 1970?
    1975 cherekee, Duxford (G-ASSW?)
    1976 t-29 convair Duxford.

Guess which aircraft didn’t survive to the 21st millenium? Oh and notice a theme?

Funny old world innit. Being born in 1959 my memory may be a hazy on this. However afaik due to the events of the crash we ended up renting the Manchester Guardians Sports Correspondants house. Unwitting start to a lifelong interest in things that fly.

    So there you go.

(Sadly both parents not about to fully corroberate this )

(edited to make some sort of sense)

    OK

I am not as on the ball as I used to be. Can someone who knows more than me, (Ollie?) explain how Surrey crept into the title of this thread?

I have been on the ‘phone all day to contacts in that area. They in turn have been investigating the chance that there is a new Fury in Surrey.

I do hope we haven’t spent a whole day searching the wrong county have we?

Yes, aged 8. The Cambridge bit is a bit embellished in the book. But 17 bouchons, b25, and I think it was only one heinkil initially did it for me. Few of the spits came in as well as far as I remember.
