Just taken delivery of a black labrador pup. 10 weeks old. Over ruled in the naming ceremony!
Went to this event 8(?) years ago, brilliant day out. Well recommended.
Well I looked at a large number of hurricane piccies relating to last week end. Great, and better than any I have in my archive at home, but if we are honest there was some replication.
I do feel we should sort out some sort of filtering system without offending the ability or ego of any of the capable photographers we have here.
For regular forum members I felt that the knowledge they could use “X, Y or Z’s” site to view piccies would be a solution.
In the infancy of media on the web I had a site with piccies from DX and basic real player video of events and appalling though the quality is by todays standards it was a useful site, judging by the enquiries I recieved. It seems to me that todays photographers could benefit from the same set up and add value with other pics or higher resolution (even at a price if I can say that)
I do intend to re code some of the video clips (including NW fighter meet as and when time allows. If anyone has a solution to the “when time allows” bit I would be greatful!
I thought I had posted some pyros already on another thread.
I have some video of pyros, when time allows I’ll upload it for you. beaufighter/spits /explosions…
‘Cos rather annoyingly I’ll be in Ireland. My only flying experience during the w/e will be with Ryan Air.
Shuttleworth Runway
I heard a whisper that the new runway is not available for visitors at the moment. Does anyone know the story behind this? Does it affect the resident aircraft in the same way?
Glad there are some literary people here. We used to have a copy of the Flying Officer X stories, It included HE Bates forward explaining how he ended up writing them.
The book of Purple Plain is infinitely better than the film in ways that the written word often is.
Another wartime author Miles Tripp wrote (amongst others) “Faith is a Windsock” Thought provoking due to when it was written and long before the mortality of war was considered fashionable.
Read all three when I was 12/13 so there you go.
Every so often the Telly earns a reprieve. Channel 4 helped again tonight. Sad proogramme but sheer magic.
There you go. Post a quite innocent enquiry and what happens eh, Robbo?
No other models wearing leather then?
It was always going to descend…………….
Probably worth adding the Debach one in. The work on restoring it is certainly showing through.
There is an open day in June, see here: http://www.493bgdebach.co.uk/ for details and pictures.
I believe a certain p51 will be about on the open day as well.
I think that the simplest solution is to link (with agreement and discussion on bandwidth etc.) to Martins site as it does it for me, covers all associations, a/c etc.
Realise IWM may want to provide their own list but give the guy a bit of recognition and a link of some formal nature?
I guess you have seen the brief film of it on the DVD?
obviously won’t be at Legends this year mind.
Wrong generation of aircraft used, a large dse of castor oil does the trick, find some ww1 raadials!
