I failed to notice the surprise. What is it?
what is meaning of big customer in 2012? Russia strategy is to make Russian armed forces the biggest customers of its own Military industries. so it wont matter if it sale $1b here or there to any one country. It is not bad business either when you look at little bit deeper.
Indeed .
Nopia Generation Zwei …:dev2:
Kidding … I will go back to my hole:o.
I dont think Russia care that much about MRCA. Infact Russia cannot export S-400/Su-35/MIG-35 (those RN MIG-29K need to be built first) before 2016 but once the two new factories of Almaz comes online than every thing will change.
China/India can no longer influence Russia arms export policy.
Indeed China/India cannot influence anybody’s export policy for that matter not just Russia’s. But with few big customers around, It would be interesting to see how the situation will unfold if Russia ignored India. Lots of Suppliers are waiting in line if Russia steps out of the game. I did not say India wanted to change the Russian arms export policy, its just bad business to ignore the biggest customer out of a few dozens. But of Course, Russia is always free to stick it up to India.
They’ve obviously hit a wall with this one… Seems those back fuselage structural problems are a pain.
Oh, and the mysterious 052 vertical stabs swap isn’t too comforting also.
Perhaps these could be one of the reasons there is a delay of ’54. Or it could be that they are trying to integrate the optical sensors and the radar together. Someone in the know could enlighten us more…
Seems 52 flew today:

What is the test flights tally as of 12th, March, 2012? Around 130?
No news anymore, these days. What is going on in Zhukhovsky?
What about the new engine? I wonder how the workload will be split between Saturn and Salyut?
No news about the AESA, Missiles, etc.. Its been several months…
With the handling of MRCA project and giving the winner to a France company this could be a way for Russia to sticking it up into India. In a “Hey, don’t cross us” in future friendly gesture or else we sell product to your rival China.
It may not be that wise to stick it up to your Biggest Customer. If at all anything the Russians are going to play it down. :p
Upgraded Lockheed Martin New F-16V Unveiled
Lockheed Martin unveiled a new version of the F-16 today at the Singapore Airshow.
The F-16V will feature enhancements including an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, an upgraded mission computer and architecture, and improvements to the cockpit – all capabilities identified by the U.S. Air Force and several international customers for future improvements.
Not fresh news anymore
The famous clip where the Su-35(old) does a display with full loadup armament.
Clearly it looks weighted down, but still it is amazing to see those stunts at low altitude.
I guess that just up a lot of critics that the Flanker could only perform with minimum weight..:)
Amazing … Although little short.
You seriously want those guys to have nukes in the interests of “fairness?”
Give me strength. 😡
:D:D
What harm could it possibly bring ?:diablo:
Some people would rather die than let others live… Give them a Nuke??
I hope everything just turns out to be a good old War of Stuxnet and Duqu…
Obviously – from a common sense point of view – it would be f**king nuts to allow a country with such an… erratic… (anyone think of a better word?) leadership to control nuclear weapons. However common sense =/= legal and didn’t answer the post you quoted.
I agree … While Iran and Israel both have the right to develop and field Nuclear weapons and in doing so may court some sanctions, But that is an option they can choose to exercise. But I am not that eager to see a handful of Nukes in the hands of Ahmadinejad …:(
You must be the A500 commenting on DT?
I read these words somewhere on the Internet …
At the end of the day the soviets love themselves a lot more than they hate the United States …
I think that is so true. But I can’t speak about the fundamentalists …
MAD is not a deterrence for some people!!
Salut has enough to work on these days.. AL-31FN for export. and AL-31FM1 for domestic orders, + the shared Saturn/Salut R&D for the Pak-Fa 5th gen engine(2nd stage).
Thanks haavarla, Good that they are cooperating… Gone are the SU days when they compete against one another, Salyut vs Saturn… now they have to compete globally.
A whole raft of new engines are needed across all airframe types …
PD 14, 2G Engines…
does klimov have any light engine programme? or oboronprom…
Nice photo of Little Boy!
😀
Iran has the option to withdraw from NPT. Then they can enrich anything they want and make the bomb just like everybody else. Just don’t use “Peaceful” NSG supplied Fuel for enriching into a bomb grade stuff.
Israel and USA can go back to their daily Stuxnet activities …
Even china also have a regular program and even have some papers on it …
