your are spoiled with such a great variety of aircraft, i’d be damned if I ever se the day YYC gets something other then a 737 haha
those canada 3000 and royal aircraft appereared in last months aworld. one of them is for scraping the other for sale.
I’d like to call there number and ask a couple questions but i’m to cheap to pay the long distance of 13 cents a minute. Has anyone else tried calling?

There was a large hailstorm in my area the other day with hail about hte size of golfballs, I wonder how often this sort of thing happens. I’m not sure if any aircraft ogt damaged in thursdays storm. Have there ever been any serious accidents due to hail storms in recent years?
See thats what is great about Calgary International. There is still a great set of viewing Areas available to the public.
The first area is set up on a small hill to overcome the fence of runway 34 (12000 m i think). This runway sees a good variety of aircraft and airlines. No passenger 747 though :< we only see the freighter series from Cargolux.
Next there is a nice quiet park adjacent to our other runway (can’t remeber the number, some pilot I am haha) which offers a large hill about 400 yards from the runway at a diagonal. This place is excellent because its green and offers a shot from about 300 feet below the aircraft! Its just to bad this runway rarely sees Jet Service except for the occasional 737.
Then the 3rd area is inside the terminal. Spaceport, a rather large 1st and 2nd level area, is free of charge offering a wide variety of services.
Here we have 2 full motion flight simulators. 10 computers offering various microsoft flight simulators. 1 full motion movie simulator in which you can hire 3 different movies including a flight on a 747 form the flightdeck and a trip to the international space station!
Next there are 2 spacecraft simulations in which you fly various missions into planets in other galaxys. There is also a space room offering you other assorted stations with various activities including controling a moon ranger in an exibit in another room!
Also on the first floor are various aircraft models.
Second Floor is much smaller but includes a bunch of binoculars, an un obstructed view of the main apron (great for photos) and a ton of aircraft history and airline history.
Clearly this airport didn’t see the need to change there viewing facilitys after 9/11. Other airports need to do the same and offer photographers a chance to get a decent shot in!

That Delta one may not be a fake. I’ve seen thick clouds low like that several times a year in Calgary. I’m sure other cities experience the same. Just a thought. . .

Happy Birthday from Half Way Across the World!
I personally favour the CRJ series because they are my home brand and they are a nice aircraft to board on a short business trip. I also like the Embraer ERJ series, especially the 190. I don’t see what a.net forum subscribers have against these fine aircraft. Keep em flying!
My last flight was with Westjet, Calgary to Victoria via Kewlona. Next week, i’ll be flying charter almost daily to Mexico and Vegas!
i’d really like to see a new Air Canada livery, these 2 pics are about as close as we’ve come in a long time. The 65th would look nice as a permanent c/s keeping the MapleLeaf but making it blue or oarnge or something. A random generation of Leaf colors would be cool. Sort of like what they have done with one of there subsidies, Jazz.

Maybe more black in the years to come!
This route reminds me of the Calgary- Edmonton route, its about 20 minutes less of a flight, but significantly cheaper. A 50 pound flight is about 80-85 dollars Canadian. A flight between Edmonton and Calgary is $30 or about 15-20 pounds. This is using a much larger aircraft though as it is a high frequency route. This could be why the 12 passenger is so expensive. How often is the route flown?
congratulations! welcome to the club, good luck!
Air France stated that they don’t wash as frequesntly as other carriers as a cost saving measure. This is just plain lazy. I’d much rather spend my money flying on a clean plane then a dirty plane!
It also says something about how much they care for there aircraft, not washed in a while? when was the last time the serviced?
I remember there was a time when the concorde came to YYC for a little visit, i saw an old pciture and the c/s looked like it was from SIA. not to fimiliar with their aircraft history, did they use to own a concorde or 2?
