I’d love to fly in a cub, how was it?
Danjama, the DVD is available towards the bottom of this web page http://www.flyingmachinestv.co.uk/DVD%20Store/DVDStore.html. I bought a copy a few years ago, you’ll love it.
Great stuff, never knew of this website, quite a variation in prices there (depending on how recent, by the looks of things) but the relevant one is very cheap, and will probably pick it up soon, as well as ‘From The Pilots Seat’ and ‘Legends In The Air’.
Thanks for the heads-up Flyboy. I did already know about both of those things – the crap thing is, my current computer just will not run RoF at any respectable setting, so i’ll wait until my new build to even bother downloading it.
As for freetrack, I tried it a couple of years ago, but my webcam was not up to scratch, despite several hours and types of light bulbs tested. Soon after trying the program, I found a little program called freeview which basically made my HAT switch work like a panning head view, such as in FS2004 etc, and you could customise it to exactly how you wanted it. I’m so used to that method now, i’m probably just as in touch with what’s going on around me, as the guy on my 6′ with a TiR. Saying that, an actual TiR still attracts me, and it’s one of those things I will get, one day.
Thanks for the thought though.
That ‘Sair!
What are they going to do with it?
Ignoring some of the silly captions, fantastic photos.
Now I am definitely interested in the discussed ‘109’ clip! And yes, I would have been interested in any DVD…
Great channel anyways, thanks for maintaining/running it.
Wasn’t the supposed design criteria for the airframe to be able to fly 1000 miles at 1000 mph to deliver a 1000 kg internal payload?
According to ‘Empire Of The Clouds’, that was the initial requirement.
Just got through with this show, have to admit my eyes were joyfully tearful as the ending drew nearer. Just a great bunch of stories, set against the backdrop of a wonderful aircraft.
Especially interesting for me was the focus on 222sqn at Hornchurch. I live in Hornchurch, and spend a bit of time at the country park. It was fascinating to hear about the connection to Sanders Draper’s, and the escort duties on bombing raids.
Although I’d welcome and devote myself to watching a series based on this concept, I don’t think any other aircraft could have such an effect as the subject – except maybe one or two.
Well done to the BBC, and John Sargeant was a complete surprise. A joy to watch and listen to. He actually seemed interested and passionate about the people he met and places he saw, as well as MH434.
…It nearly put me of my love of aircraft.
Dave
And that is what this all boils down to, for all of us, surely? We love these machines. That’s why 11 people are now gone, and hundreds of others irriversibly affected
I am humbled by your post. I hope peace comes to all those left behind.
Sorry Dan, I have removed a comment that was a little insensitive, Bruce
I watched it. Excellent viewing.
I watched it. Excellent viewing.
25G’s…poor bloke never had a chance. RIP.
It’s a confirmed mock up.
Do you have any samples? Or can you tell us more?
