Is there a way to change it back? This is horrible.

Now this sounds like a great topic one I have read as much as possible about and of course spoken to many Eighth veterans in my country over the years. Was this a local production or sometime the BBC did ? Hope someone would be so kind as to record it and put it on Youtube if possible.
Hopefully with the 70 th anniversary coming up next year of many key dates in WW II history… like D-Day , Market -Garden , Battle of the Bulge etc…we will see a new wave of documetaries on these event with a fresh prespective.
Over here I have read in the some industry movie publications that Hanks * Speilberg are working on a new film project about the Eighth AF. Looking for more to come out about this effort for sure.
Work in the TV news business myself and could someone explain to me this “Freeview Channel 19” deal. Is this a public access channel in a certain region of the UK ? Hope the BBC has some more WW II efforts underway for the 70th ! Thanks

I’m like you, i have a real passion for this aspect of the war, and have a LOT of books on the Mighty Eighth. Also really looking forward to a growth of documentaries and publications on the subject. We’d probably have a lot to talk about you and I.
In the UK we have ‘freeview’ TV for people who don’t want to waste vast sums on cable or ‘sky’, IE packaged TV. Freeview channel 19 is I think the ‘Yesterday’ channel, which specialises in this type of programme.
I cannot wait for this new Spanks production to get underway (it’s a mini series), and am desperate for information on how to become an extra, as surely they will need many. If anybody knows anything please let me know!
Thanks they are great 😎
Thanks so much chaps, not exactly what i had in mind, but those 2 links are sublime! 😎
I could look through this sort of stuff for hours, and wasted much of Sunday doing so! 😮
No5 image just takes my breath away, for some reason.
so close

There really is some fantastic images on there!
Just searched the LoC website for B17 photos/drawings. 800,000+ results 😮
I’m going to have some fun!
Thank you.
Seem to remember it vaguely. Maybe a USAAF publicity picture, or by Boeing, Lockheed Vega? Best of luck with your search.
Thanks. It was almost definitely a staged publicity shot, similar to many of the famous colour photos of the era, by LIFE et al.
Condolences to the friends and family of the pilot. Found some photos of her flying here.

Great photos but just completely ignored the drivel written around them.
Truly beautiful photos.
Does anyone know if the Sally B guys are taking 2013 show bookings yet? we have emailed, but have heard nothing back… we’d like to book her into the Military and Flying Machines show at Damyns Hall, but the paperwork clock is ticking.
Richard
Great show last year. Recommend to all. Hope you get Sally-B, would be great to see her in my home skies.
The ginger woman was bloody annoying and ruined it for me. Where do they find em? Had to switch off.
I just want to see an Fw190 fly. Preferably at legends.
+1
Shame i’ve only just seen this as i would have been there in a heartbeat.
Too short notice for me now. It’s my own fault though for not visiting the forum enough.
OK, here’s my first shot of the year taken yesterday (Wednesday 2nd Jan) at about 8am on the way to work. If I’d been quicker it could have been titled “Dawn of a new season at Duxford” but I wasn’t so I’m calling it “Dawn over the Ju52”. I really don’t care if it’s a Amiot, Toucan, AAC.1 or whatever. To me it will always represent the Ju52 and the part that the type played during the various theatres of European and Mediterranean conflict during the Second World War. I wouldn’t have wanted to see hordes of these over England in 1940, I’m sure it would have been terrifying.
Dawn over the Ju52
Very, very nice.
