Literally any advice or input is appreciated – i’m racking my brains here, just can’t decide what to do – very unlike me.
The best portrayal of an American Soldier has to be at the end of Empire of the Sun.
The soldier (General?) that hands the boy that tin of milk.
While I do agree, it’s a very stereotypical portrayal, no?
Great film, btw, one of my favourites. Jim is one character I can truly relate to (as much as a person outside of those experiences could).
Bit saddened that anyone feels we laugh at deaths of US soldiers. I have nothing but respect and have quite a big interest in the Vietnam War. I find it shocking how terribly vets were treated when they came home from that war.
I am not a fan of generalisations and all this UK bashing and implied unpleasantness to US soldiers by UK enthusiasts gets me down. There was a TV show about a Tornado sqn that was hardly flattering and one about a UK Sub, a UK frigate etc….
Any idea what the show about the Tornado sqn was called?
And how about that F-111 program?
Cotteswold/tim, Hello! Nice to ‘meet’ you!
Fantastic photos, you took them??? If you don’t mind me asking, how did you find yourself in such a position? Were you a pilot during the war? Or RAF photographer?
Amazing photos, whatever the case.
Sorry if you’ve answered these questions before, i haven’t been around long.
Is this LOMAC?
🙁

Thank you, at last a constructive reply! 😎
After reading over in the Naval aviation sub-forum, It got me thinking. If I was to join the RN and train on rotory wing a/c, when/if the Navy does re-equip with fixed wing types, would I have an opportunity to convert to those units and re-train? Would I be given priority over new recruits? Or would it work the opposite – would they rather recruit a fresh flock for those types?

I know the FAA now consists of rotary wing aircraft (or Helo’s) since the Harrier’s retirement, but surely there are plans to equip or create squadrons with new fixed-wing jets? JSF?

That would explain the slack requirements :p

Wow! That Vulcan shot is incredible.
I still haven’t built a system to actually run it. I decided it wasn’t worth the investment – at least not for the time being, not for me. (Bear in mind i’ve played and owned every instalment of il2 through the years, and loved every minute of it – it enabled me to meet many, many good friends online, that i otherwise wouldn’t have).
Maybe i feel as though simming has just taken up too much of my time, however, if i had the £600-1000 spare i’d go for it.
Is that all?
I may have 3 or 4, will let you know by morning.
