Realism: We’re getting there! A great fusion of acting and IL2 software. Yes, this is old software, so what, I wonder, can be achieved now….as long as someone keeps an eye on flight dynamics (‘Pearl Harbour’ – how not to do it).

Knocke got himself into trouble with his ‘bomb dropping into bombers’ scheme, until Goering applauded it.

Well, “Cliffs Of Dover” is now. You can download it on steam. The developers need all the support they can get. I have bought it in readyness for my new computer build!

You can chat with the creator of this video, as he posts regularly, at the 1C forums:

I’m glad i’m not the only il2 pilot here. I’m also into FS9, and will go to FSX and ROF when I have my new computer done.

Highland Aviation Museum has an F.1A cockpit section XM169 that is fairly well instrumented- possibly complete.

The pics below were taken reliant on the auto focus which didn’t result in the best of images. Don’t know if they would be of help. The full size images direct from the camera are too big to post here. PM if you are interested in those.

    Fantastic images!

I don’t envy anybody trying to restore that workplace.

There’s a user-created fix that seems to be solving any stutter/fps issues for most people, with masive performance increases for very little image quality loss. Check this:

Looks promising, and may help the devs to implement the changes officially, so people don’t have to sneak around behind their backs.

Only an idiot could have accepted the design for that hangar IMO. Sorry but I have always felt strongly about the total waste of space and money.

    John

I feel exactly the same about the proposed design for the RAF Museum. Terrible. The AAM is a little bit better though IMO. It houses some excellent exhibits/artefacts, as well as telling a significant story.

    Excellent photos too, thank you.

I’m completely torn between an i5 2500k system, (more expensive, will need more time to build), or a 1090t six core system (cheaper, finished sooner, not as good).

    😡

I want to play this game NOW damn it, and see what all this fuss is about! :diablo:

    Thanks Matty.

John, please do let us know how that works out – i’m looking at an i5 myself.

I’m glad to hear you’re getting good results Matty – at least someone is.

As said – it’s ridiculous that this simulation isn’t utilizing 64bit and multicores. Maybe in a patch, who knows…

How do the flight models feel? Is it as easy to turn and burn as it was in il2? Or is it more weighty? I also hear Complex engine management is now exactly that – you have to control every single aspect, from the oil cooler to the fuel mixture. Have you tried that yet?

Could you share with me your system specs and how the game is running for you?

Alot of people are reporting poor performance, even with top end machines.

It’s making it very difficult to decide on buying a new PC or not.

Hi i’m new here. Not really involved in aviation as some of you are (judging by above posts), but I am a huge WW2 aircraft enthusiast. I just wanted to say I appreciate these photographs. Really interesting.
