Thanks to pagan and david burke for their thoughtful/informative replies on the previous page.
I cant believe how keen many of you are to have her grounded after this incident! We’re supposed to be the ones in support of machines such as 558.
You’ve done superbly with that lens. That chaff/flare release/F16 shot is excellent & really good timing, following that upwards! I failed with that & I have a Sigma 400mm. Brilliant shots!

I think the USM and a good load of luck helped with that one! I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it at full size.
Thanks for your very kind words 🙂
I’m thinking i’ll rent the 100-400 next time for a comparison. Very curious about the differences in reality between a budget and an L lens.
Hope for similar conditions at Legends. 😀
Very good shots. That first one is extremely sharp! What equipment did you use?
Great stuff! Excellent day was had.
As a curious hobbyist, how does one gain access to these sorts of events, does it differ from place to place? Or are they generally open to the public? Maybe it’s just a matter of checking the right places and then turning up?
Would love to start attending, making a few friends/contacts in the hobby/trade.
Great photos Brian, 3 and 9 are my favourites.
HAHA poor old Moggy 😀

Didn’t stay for the Spitfire MkIX/MkXVI aerobatics?:D
As MH434 was being fueled, TD248 flew in from the north and did a short aerobatics routine over the airfield. MH434 went up twice, with different pilots, and both gave an excellent display.

Lucky ***! 😀
Wonder if Copping had academic/practical experience in such areas? Or was a man acting in desperation 🙁
(if indeed it was Copping!).
Are any of the aircraft in the Great War hanger at RAFM Hendon actually airworthy?
We are in trouble. It’s been posted on imgur gallery. This is now public knowledge.
p.s. dont read the comments, they will damage your IQ.
Told you so!!! (To all the cynics).
