Just detaching myself from the technical points of discussion for a moment to say, I really and truly would have given my left (or right) testicle, gladly, to have been in the photographers position when he stumbled upon this find…
Lucky guy.
It makes me laugh how people over ta WIX have blown up the tail section from the long distance photo, and theyre surprised to see artefacts around the tail
Personally, I would also have taken and posted the long distance photos. They add authenticity and believability to the photos, by showing the surrounding environment and approach.
Why are people so certain that 1,2, and 3 are fake? They all look bloody obviously real to me!! Digital, too, IMO, probably from a compact. It seems to have struggled to expose correctly due to the bright sky contrasting with the dull foreground.
Its a common planning ploy where there is a potentially sensitive historic issue with building a housing estate, they give out all the positive vibes about restoration etc so everybody gets used to the idea of actually building on the site, then it tails off after a few months and then the focus is just on building the houses. It happened to Fort Clarence in Rochester in Kent, although it wasn’t knocked down a great opportunity to restore it to its original setting was lost as it was surrounded by housing so the moats couldn’t be dug out and then horror of horrors they actually built on top of the Historic Gun Tower! And by the way EH were hand in glove to this vandalism.
Makes me sick.
Charing Cross Underground Station.
Period original image…not photoshop. 🙂
Anybody know the serial?
Mark
More details on this anyone? Some sort of unveiling ceremony?
Try this place, specialises in selling used gear.

Community assisted Mosquito project.
(Rip off from ‘community assisted racing series’ for PC).
Great Whirly website btw.
Excellent issue – especially the spotlight!
Interesting read, and no surprises. Thanks.

Here’s my photo – essay from The Friends of The Fighter Collection Event on Sunday evening.
Images taken with the new Canon G1X point and shoot camera ~ using a tripod and a six or eight second exposure time. The camera is in fact so new that it’s not yet supported by Photoshop ~ so I’ve just converted the RAW files into JPEG’s and resized them to share 🙂
Both the TFC’s Bearcat and P-47 Thunerbolt were positioned before dark ~ which enabled photographers to get some nice angles of both …..
…
Many, many thanks to everyone at The Fighter Collection for such a well organised event. And especially for rearranging the lighting so we could get different moods and effects in our pictures.
How many hours and days is it now I wonder before TFC’s Flying Legends Air Show at Duxford Airfield on June 30th and July 1st ? 🙂 🙂 🙂
Absolutely fantastic collection bomberflight, thanks so much for sharing. Really enjoy the peculiar angles.

I really loved that. I hope it caught the attention of some younger viewers. Can imagine many keen younger viewers staying up on a sunday school night to catch this.
Major respect for both the Mcgregor brothers for doing this show (although it’s clearly not without its privileges).
