It appears that Rolls Royce have been awarded a ten year £198 million contract to support the Pegasus engine for the RAF and Navy Harriers.
So it looks like some Harriers will be around for years to come.
Thanks

Hi
Just a suggestion and a few questions
Why not hand over all the Harriers to the Royal Navy and all the Chinooks to the Army. The Navy to keep their own Helicopters.
Does it make sense?
Would this be a more efficient use of resources?
How many bases could you close and where would you move the equipment/assets to?
Would it send a powerful message to anyone thinking of invading a UK dependency?
Would the Royal Navy still be able provide Harries for use in Afghanistan from a land base?
Would it save any money?
Thanks
Martin
You have done a very good job for your efforts in such drab conditions.
Thanks for posting.

Great pictures. Nice and sharp and some good editing. The best collection of Duxford autumn show pics I have seen in any forum.
The T28 with the propwash and spray under the wheel is particularly nice.
Well done.

A bit late. My second set.

And welcome from me too. A decent set of pics.

Welcome and great pics. Really nice to see the Bucc and Lightning where they belong in the sky.

Great pictures as usual. The TR9 display was very good but there again so were the others.

Great photos. I think you have caught the atmosphere of the event. Some of your pics have a ‘real thing’ look about them. My favourite is the third last.
Thanks for posting.

Thank you for your nice comments.
Despite the smaller display on Saturday, I found both days very relaxing. I see that the main Kemble Air Day will be a two day event next year. I can’t wait.

Dak pics are my favourite shots. Hop your lens is less temperamental next time.

Nice pictures but it does not look to me that the Vulcan in your pic was at the height of a loop. More like a climbing high angle of bank turn followed by a descent. The angle at which you are viewing with a camera also makes it look more dramatic particularly as it appears you caught it in a descending turn. Still very impressive though.

Good photos but the Dak photos are particularly nice.
The BBMF web site shows a Dakota display for the 14th of September 2008over the Weald of Kent. Perhaps that was the event.

Some good pics. Indeed, the fog lifted, the sun came out. Looked like it was going to be quite a sunny day but then that horrible dark cloud came over and spoilt it all and hardly moved. Typical.
Yesterday was much better with sunshine but not so many displays.
Thanks
Martin
Unfortunatel,y some of these tye of events get overlooked but it was listed in the October issue if Flypast.
I thought about going today but I went elsewhere insted. Some nice pics here.
The Vampire Preservation Group Vampire was listed on its own web site to appear today. Did it appear and were there any other displays?
Thank for posting. Looks like you had great weather.
