Thank you Jay. I am going to Dunsfold Wings and Wheels on 24/08/08 but it seem the Vimy will be firmly on the ground at that show.

    Thanks

Nice pictures of the DC-6, but for an old lady the attitude looks a bit extreme ! probably within speed limitations but what if she lost a donk (engine)? The loss of the DH Mosquito at Barton was scary to watch, and due to a faulty carb under extreme attiude.

Thank you T-21. Yes it was quite a high angle.

A lens up to 400mm should be ok for most shows but it does not help that at some seaside shows the aircraft tend to be further away than most other shows. I have not been to Lowestoft for two or three years but I think I may revisit it next year. The line up this year certainly looked good especially with the Vulcan.

    Thanks

    Hi Jay

I did not realise the Vimy had come off the runway by as much as it did. The second youtube Video certainly shows it more much more serious than compared to my level view.

As to why it went off the runway, I bow to your experience as a former pilot.

    An Apache pic.

    Thanks

I certainly enjoyed the show. A nice relaxed atmosphere.

Hurricane, Vampire, and Apache are my favourite pics.

Thank you all for your kind comments. It is a Vampire.

I line with my new policy of trying not to post too many pics, only three more.

The Chipmunk was the last visitor to leave the airfield on the day.

    Thank you Jay and Teej.

Jay, I got a bit worried about the Vimy. It had come partly off the runway nearside almost in front of us and looked like it was about to go in to a concentric turn.
I got a shot of it as it was going wobbly but there was a security guard right in front of me at the critical point and anyway I was about to decide my next move.

Excellent efforts by the pilot to control and turn it away and bring it to a safe halt.

Teej, oddly enough the Hunter was probably the closest jet aircraft to come toward the crowd line on Saturday.

    Great shots Teej.

You certainly can’t get enough of the Vulcan. Landing shots the best of the selection for me.

    Thanks
