Very nice indeed. Were they really as low as they appear?
Hi Mike
I think you are quite right, they are not as low as one would think. All the lower flying aircraft were either at min flat pass display height or a bit above.
The Oasis Jumbo looks quite low but a picture taken from Eastbourne itself on another forum shows it as quite high as it was coming round Beachy Head.
It’s just that we were a lot higher and the zoom lens compressed the view.

Wow 🙂 An excellent set of photos, the Chinook shots are brilliant especially the close in shot, you can see them grinning 🙂 Lovely Oasis shots too 🙂
Thank you very much. Not sure if all the images have downloaded properly.:) – now sorted.

Great shots.
Thanks foir sharing. Very impressive.

Lovely pics Jen.
I was almost blown over when I saw the Jumbo. It looked so low I thought for a moment it was coming out of Newhaven rather than Gatwick.
Cheers

I will post some of mine tomorrow evening sometime.
Brilliant pics of the Hunter formation. Excellent images all round.
I dont know what you think looks like a Chipmunk in the German line. The 2 main aeroplanes in the line photo are a Bucker Jungmeister and Peter Holloways Klem KL35. The others where Bucker Jungman, ME108, Bucker Bestmann, Focke Wolf FW44 Stieglitz.
I think James was referring to the third aircraft away in the line. It does not look too dissimilar from a Chipmunk so I suppose one could make a mistake though easier to do so from a distance.

Lovely shots Brian.

Don’t think I have see a thread with so many pics in it.

Hi Brian
Nice pics, especially the first one. I do not think I got the dust coming up from the runway.
Hard to take that some enthusiasts were moaning that the equipment was not at RIAT. They should hve been happy they saw it at Duxford.
Anyway, I believe it was exactly the same Herc that was static was also static at RIAT. Of course, F15s and a tanker or two was at RIAT. Not sure about the helicopters.
A far as Joe Public is concerned I suppose it is understandable that there were no aerobatics displays.
A bit gappy, yes but there were a few things on the ground as well.
I hope there will be a next time next year for an event like this at Duxford. Chuck in one or two more American militry aircraft and a couple of private aeros, perhaps Team Guinot or The Aerostars, Blades or some other and I will enjoy it eve more than I did.

Hi Rob
The only thing I have been able to find out is that the Great War Display Team should be flying. They are listed as attending on the GWDT web site.
There is a contact name listed on the attached link. You can try that. I doubt I will be going.

Nice pics but the F15 shot is particularly brilliant.
