    Hi

I arrived at the show at about 7.10am and inside the airfield close to the pay points which opened up at 7.30am

At that time the signs tell you to turn off the M54 and drive down the main road then filter right in to the main gate. There is no problem with traffic or causing congestion by turning right at that time. You are simply following the airshow signs.

They have a habit of moving the signs around and routing air show traffic in different directions when it starts to get busy later on.

    Hi Rob

I could not have been too far away from you. I was right at the front just left of the orange bollard markng the centre of the datum and the last burger stand was just to my right.

I arrived at 7.10am and left shortly after the Mustang and Kittyhawk departed.

I wish Peter Teichman could have displayed his Mustang again in the absence of the Canberra and Hurricane.

    Some nice pics there.

    Hi

I have had this lens for the last two months or so. My intention was to couple it with a Sigma 2X converter on my 20D to photograph jets to try and get some better angles at shooting.

I have not used the lens very much on its own or with the converter. I have found it to be rather heavy when hand held. Also, if you are doing ground to air photography on any aircraft that is quite close and and you are using the max aperture of F2.8 at max zoom, I think there is a high risk that only part of the aircraft will be in focus due to the limited zone of sharpness.

You may be tempted to use a 1.4X converter or a 2X converter and your 350D should still outo focus but to be honest I have found the image quality with the 2X converter to be rather disappointing. This may be in part to me not getting to grips with the combo yet. I need more practice.

I do not know if your camera has better auto focus sensitivity at F2.8 but I question whether it is necessary due to my earlier point about zone of sharpness. I do get the impression that the lens is very quick to auto focus
without a 2X conveter but can hunt a lot with it.

Personally, if you have not already got one, I would go for the Cannon 100-400IS lens. It costs about £600.00 less than the Sigma lens but with £600.00 spare you could splash out £670.00 or less and get a 30D as well.

    I hope this helps.

Brilliant shots Martin very nice. Good to see the Skyraider out flying is she owned by the same people who own the Seafire?

    James

Kennet Aviation. I believe both aircraft are owned by them.

    Thanks

    Hi

Excellent timing on the Reds pic. Like the Mustang as well. Looks like Ferocious Frankie was flying lower on Sunday.

    Thanks Rob

I do not think I am as computer literate as you are. My ISP is AOL with broadband and I think I just did not like the look of what I saw.

I was looking at AOL Hometown which is a place to store pics in journal type fashion. I was probably looking in completely the wrong place.

I will explore my computer and windows explorer over the next few days.

I may take up your offer and PM you!

    Cheers

I would like to thank you all for your very good advice. I am very grateful.

I have finally managed to upload an image on my Old Warden Naval Air Display thread.

In the end I have used Imageshack.us. I am unable yet to post my images from my Fotopic web site. This would be my preferred option and I have sent an email to Fotopic for further advice and clarification.

I looked at My Webspace as an option but I get he impression that the one provided by my ISP is not that good.

Alex, I am not sure if I was right next to you at Biggin Hill but I have looked at your web and you could not have been too far away from me. I was standing beside two gents on my left and a young disabled person on my right standing on a blanket. A bit further to the left of me was a person who became unwell and the St Johns ambulance was called to take a look at him but everything looked okay in the end. If you were with him then I remember you. There was a grassy hump the crowdline just the other side of a taxi way and I think I ws about 200 feet to the left of it.

Good pics LL75 in spite of the bad weather. The Typhoon makes an interesting dislpay with the vapour in wet conditions.
