Thanks for posting. The chequer board Tiger Moth looks very light on the port wheel. Was that camera angle or a little wind getting under the wing and lifting it slightly?
Thank Mike.
It looked to me that the port leg went in to a rutt. There was no grass taxiway between the crowdline and the metal runway and a few light aircraft that chose this route found it a bit hard going but none got stuck. There was a grass runway the other side.
Most planes taxid out on the metal axiway.
I like the Cannberra!:D
Thanks very much Canpark. There wil be more of it within 48 hours from sunny Sunday.
I think there is one flying in Australia at the moment but it is allowed to do loops. Is that right?
some nice shots there 🙂 did the F15 just do a Flypast?
James
Thanks James. Bog standard flypast with two F15s then turned round. Both then separated and came in a straight line up the crowdline except one did a wing wraggle somewhere near the centre.
They each turned north east has they exited the eastern end of the airfield but were at too high an angle to get a proper top view of each aircraft.
In short, yes!
A few more.
Click on thumbs.
You don’t. Even the guys who work on that aircraft aren’t quite sure if it has ever happened (I used to be one of them).
Great photos!
Thanks for your nice comment. Always appreciated.
As far as the B25 doing a roll I guess if they have done it they would not want anyone to know about it,
Nice pics steve
Another question, is it just me or does she seem to sit lower than I remember them? COuld be the struts are fully depressurised?[/QUOTE]
Glad someone else answered that!
Nice images here. I may put Bruntinthorpe down for a visit when the Vulcan is back in the air.
Nice pics. I was going to go today but did not but was told that 7 or 8 Spits took of for Goodwood and one or two other aircraft set off for Switzerland.
Good weather, bad weather or o/k weather, as far the flying display is concerned it is down to timing when rain arrives or goes through. I am taking the risk by going both days.
The only thing that is more variable than the weather is the forecast itself. I know it is not going to be brilliant on Saturday but whatever the forecast there is still enough time for it to be out a few hours here or there. I am just hoping we will be lucky in that respect.
I try to be optimistic
I remember being one of the Abingdon RAF air shows years ago seeing 5 Vulcans (which had been converted in to refuelling tankers) take off one after another just seconds apart.
Each one went in to a steep climb and then turn on a sixpence at about 2000ft or so. It is the most memorable sight I can remember from the time of RAF Abingdon. In fact to me the Vulcan is my most memorable didsplay preformer of them all.
I can also still remember vividly the word “FAREWELL” on the bomb doors when the XH558 display retired from the RAF.
I now it will be a huge croud puller. Fantastic. Well done VTSC in getting XH558 back in the sky where it belongs.
What was the deal about the nose? Something mentioned here on the forum about the nose falling off or something?
In one of the earlier images on this thread there is a pic of a Vulcan cockpit section. I think someone just made a joke out of it. Thats all.
Lovely. Nice to know that a real thunderbird will again take to the air soon.
Excellent news. Brilliant!
Really? Who?
Moggy
Yes and no idea who. Seems I failed to inject bit of humour in to the conversation. Still it is a lot better than the backbiting that has benn going on.
I want the Vulcan to fly. Perhapsi is best to lock this thread as well
