Ive also come across this policy before when flying with Singapore Airlines, but i have only been asked to show my credit card when departing the UK with them. Im not sure of the process if someone else books your ticket, but if you lost or damaged your card im sure a phone call to customer services before the flight would sort it somehow?
I think it worked out about £15 more than full price Eco 😀
Yea last time i was in Economy i got a fairly small sandwich and a complimentary drink. You also get the SWISS Chocs down the back too. All good stuff eh.
Yep, some people just have to break the rules. Sod the comfort and safety of others around them, because they are too stupid to realise what there actions may lead too. Obviously no respect for himself or any of his family who may have been onboard.
This is an Airline which i had never heard of untill reading the article in this months Airliner World. Looks to have good product going here. Hope there international plans work out. I wonder if they can come up with anything as special as the J/F cabins on JET?
I have no doubts as to the impact good T.V advertising can have on a product, but surely this is wasted on Ryanair. I would imagin by now that anyone in the U.K who is looking for a cheap(sometimes!!) airline ticket will almost always think straightaway, Ryanair or EasyJet.
The folks at QANTAS wont be too happy to hear about the AUS$88 ticket mentioned in your other post then!!! Well, tough times ahead. It would appear that different styles of product ie LCC v full premium are suffering in in different ways depending on global location.
Only in America!!!! A meeting area at the front of the plane complete with scratching posts for cats, and the IFE is AVOD allowing your pet to “paws” the programmes.
The wingtip strobes on a Boeing flash once, the wingtip strobes on an Airbus flash twice.
Not sure of any laws governing other lights such as Anti Collision Beacons and so on.
As far as Vapourtrails/contrails, there is heaps of info on the Net covering their formation. There are so many variables as to how long they stay around for. What you see in the sky is hot exhaust gas condensing in the very cold air (-50/-60), similar to when you exhale on a freezing cold winters day.
A very enjoyable report. Looking forward to the next installments. I also stayed at the Langham Place HK just a few weeks ago. Nice hotel, just a bit out of the way. Love the pic you captured of the Lightening in KL.
As far as i know this ticket is also non refundable. As stated in the above post its still a full service flight, but any snacks/drinks on the bmi operated segmets are buy on board(unless your blue plus/silver/gold in bmi diamond club)
People chatting away on a phone on a Ryanair flight. Could be annoying i think, but not nearly as much as those bloody jingles they play while boarding. Noise cancelling headphones now become worth there weight in gold.
I would say your only hope is that Eco is oversold, and there is room in Business class. Any top tier members would most likley be given the chance to move up, but as silver, in short your chances are very very slim.
You may also find that the cheapest Eco fares are not upgradable anyway, even using miles.
I normaly prefer to take a window seat on the left, as others have stated, i just find it more natural to lean on this side of my body. Having said that, on a flight which will involve a sunrise/sunset, i will opt for a seat on that side of the plane. In the case of sunrise, i have also fallen into the self conscious decision of whether or not to don the sunnies!!!
BMI call center staff dont seem to be very clued up on award tickets. You will have to keep on pestering them untill you speak to “the right person”.
Not sure if you know about the “ANA TOOL” to search for open award seats on airlines with star alliance and partners? Google it for a link. This will be your best friend when it comes to finding an award seat. Then you can ring Diamond Club with the facts that there are open seats for flights X,Y,Z..
As for FFPs being a scam!!! I can only say i have had no trouble at all finding the seats i want. You just need to get creative and be somewhat flexible.

Ah right. Cheers for the info Grey Area.
