On 4 February 2008 took place in Riva Trigoso the ceremony of the cutting of the Bergamini’s first sheet, GP version, in the presence of institutional and military. The delivery of the ship is scheduled for early 2012. The next 4 ships will be the type ASW while the last 5 will be the model GP.

Hi Enrr. I knew that impressive “project” but, are you sure that is a real one?

    Regards

I’m not sure, I found that image in my hard disk but I don’t remember the source. The characteristics I have taken from the site linked by Peter G.

My iPACS (link) is a fan-art:D

    Soviet Navy Project 1157 Cruiser

Designed in the late 1980s to meet the Russian Navy’s urgent demand to counterbalance the US Aleigh Burke class destroyer, Project 1157 cruiser is equipped with 4 X-band radars, hundreds of missiles including SA-N-24 (sea based S400), 4 Kashtan Air Defence Gun/Missile System, four gas turbines, the ship controls over 300KM radius of battle space with the full speed of 33 knots. Basically, Project 1157 cruiser is a stealth upgrade of the Slava class cruiser, and if the communist Russia ever survived, the Project 1157 cruiser would become the most dreadful surface vessel in the 21st century.

To meet the highest standards of ship modelling and make it compatible to most 3D applications, most details of this ship model are achieved via polygons instead of texture maps, so you can have splendid geometry that contributes to realism at any time.

The Italy signed today for the second tranche of 4 FREMM, leading to 6 ships ordered on 10 planned. Is scheduled for February 8 the cutting of the first sheet of Bergamini, the first Italian FREMM

EDIT: I update the page in english on FREMM (link) on my website with new information and new images

    Hi again,
I stand correct. Congratulations to the MMI. So it means that the financial assets are planed in but those additional four unites are not yet ordered right. If it is true that the next two U212A are also funded that will be a good year for Fincantieri. Any news on the modernization of the de la Penne class?
    Regards.

    FREMM
2 (1 GP + 1 ASW) funded and ordered, begin costruction this year
4 funded in dec 2007 but not yet ordered
4 only planned, order no later than 2013 and 2015

    U212A
Funds doubled this year. If MM signed the contract was not said

Fincantieri has military shipyards saturated until 2010

The De La Penne are undergoing a very slight modification due to a lack of funds. The Mimbelli is almost at the end of its work, then it will be the turn of Dlp
The work consists of: upgrading the combat system; boarding the new 3D radar RAN-40/L; Teseo Mk-2A (alias Otomat Block IV with capacity Land Attack); revision of gas turbines; repair of structural damage; various electronic updates

For directions given by the Government on LHD on Monday returned all on the high seas

Only, six unites planned at all or already six unites financed?

10 FREMM (6 GP, 4 ASW) planned, 6 unites financed at the moment.

MMI have the Conditional Tranche n° 3 to activate within 2013 for 7 and 8 ship and Conditional Tranche n° 4 to activate within 2015 for last 2 vessel

    Preliminary design of Cavour

1991 – 15/16.000 tons full load Garibaldi improved
    http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/9751/cavour1991wa2.th.jpg

    1996 – 18/20.000 tons full load, about 200 m, small STOVL carrier
    http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/4408/cavour1996vh3.th.jpg

    1997/9 – 20.000 multipurpose platform – Project 163 and 168
    no image at the moment. 200 m, 50 m dock for 2 LCAC, 4 Harrier, 6-8 helicopters, 25 knot, 500 troops

In the meantime, the requirement for a new aircraft carrier as well as the basic concept of the NUM had been approved by the Committee of the Chiefs of Staff and by the Minister of Defence in 1997. But it was not before early 1998 that more details concerning the new designs that the MMI was looking at were made public by MMI officials (including the Navy’s Chief of Staff and the Head of the Studies/New Constructions Department of the General Staff) appearing before the Parliament’s Defence Committees in February 1998 for the program approval (a purely informative process as a defence program doesn’t require such a formal approval). It was made clear that the new ship would be able to operate, depending on the circumstances, as a primarily STOVL aircraft carrier, or a Helicopter Assault Ship (LPH), or an amphibious landing ship (LPD) and even as a strategic transport ship. The overall size of the ship had been increased to a full load displacement of 20’800t (15’800t light), a length of 218m (195.8m wl) and a width of 39m (29.5m wl).The propulsion system was still based on two gas turbines and two props providing a top speed slightly over 25 knots and a range of 7’000nm at a cruising speed of 16 knots (18 days without replenishment), with a typical mission autonomy of 45 days. There was initially no ski-jump fitted, but that structure was later added to the design.
    http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/6126/cavour1999ax3.th.jpg
The flight-deck was served by two elevators, one forward of the island to starboard, and the other (of the deck-edge type) aft of the island to starboard. Accommodations for up to 620 amphibious troops were included, while the ship was supposed to be manned by a crew of 420, with 200 additional people for the air group and command/flag facilities for 140 people, for a total capacity of around 1’380. A 25 x 14m stern docking-well would have allowed the use of traditional landing crafts or a far more expensive and capable LCAC-type platforms. single hangar/garage deck

    2000 – Final Project 168A – True STOVL ship
Actual desing without dock and improved displacement for JSF.
Remain some anfibious capacity. It can operate as LPH (with 325-400 marines), (luxury!!) Ro-Ro vessel with to ramp (aft and side) by 60 tons, 3 LCVP, 3 RHIB and motor lauch

He can´t be serious. The MMI does know how to get their 10 FREMM funded.

Now we funded only 6 vessel.
The LHD are scheduled for 2018,2022 and 2028 with start of work on 1st on 2013.

There is also the rumored 27,500 ton AOR purchase by India? Perhaps this design is also being proposed to the RN for the MARS requirement?

Itn’s a rumor but the contract was signed in July. Maybe the ship is under costruction.
